We’re doing a family portrait sesson up the canyon with the fall colors and it just happens to be our one month anniversary! We’re bringing our dog too! (These are very belated e-photos, but now we’re calling them family portraits now.)
I have very few clothes – at least it feels this way! I bought 3 new pieces at Maurices since I had a coupon – a plum T, a scarf and a red ruffle tank.
Of coures I’ll coordinate H with whatever seems good, he’s easier to dress!
Vote for 1 or 2 outfits if you feel like playing. I am not totally sure about doing an outfit change. Input is welcomed!
1. New plum T and scarf, wool skirt, black tights/boots
2. New plum shirt, wool skirt, black tights/boots (I’ll wear a cami as the shirt is kind of see through)
3. Grey ruffled top, cardigan, blue jeans, Dankos (I wear these tops a LOT).
4. Grey ruffled top, cardigan, dark skinny jeans and flats (I’m a little worred about my saddlebags for photos) – ignore the rollers!
5. Go with some color! New red ruffle top , cardigan, dark skinny jeans and flats – talking to my mom while getting ready – these aren’t the most flattering jeans…

Outfit #1 for me is the most interesting and flattering. The colours are nice and bold (looks better in photos if a colour ‘pops!’) and the scarf adds detail. But you look great in all those outfits, and those jeans you said aren’t flattering – I think they look great on you!

I’d do the wool skirt, with the tights and boots, with the grey ruffled shirt and cardigan, with the scarf!
So, a mix of all of them!

Just to make things more complicated… I vote for plum sweater with scarf and dark skinny jeans lol.

kariface emilygrace07 LOL! OK I’ll have to go swap tops and bottoms and see how that goes!
With the skirt I’m fine with showing my waistline with a fitted top, but with the skinny jeans, I kind of want stuff to hang more loose!

Definitely do an outfit change! I ended up hating the way one of my outfits looked in our e-pictures.
@emilygrace07: +1. Love the scarf with plum sweater and skinny jeans. Also try the boots over the skinny jeans, that’s my go-to look in the fall!
I like the dark wash of the skinny jeans, it’s super flattering and photographs well!

Aw come on, can’t you do the rollers? For me?

I have quite the bodonkadonk, so adding heeled boots to skinny jeans would make me look off proportionally I think!

I voted for #4. I just dont know that the dark shirt/boots/tights combo will photograph well, as there isn’t much contrast and the boots look a bit clunky on your otherwise svelte frame.
I, too, suggest doing an outfit change. Like a PP, I ended up hating an entire series in our photos because our outfits were all wrong. Thank goodness we did an outfit change, or we would have needed a total re-shoot.

The first outfit has such greaat colors that I had to vote for it.

@lovekiss: Yeah those boots are actually 1/2 size too big – it was so hard to find boots in my size here in my town. While they are comfy, they are pretty loose around the calf. They kind of look like pirate boots!
I thought of getting some patterned tights instead of all black tights?
Or just the wool skirt, leggings and flats? Then I have bare tops of feet?

I like the plum shirt, but I think I’d like it better with jeans and flats. Otherwise, I think I like the outfit with the red top best.

I could do jeans/flats/plum T for casual. Haven’t tried that yet!
Then we could do dressed up with a JCrew dress with black heels, I have a black and blue dress at home now. H in dress slacks and tucked in button down.
Then I’m out of clothes people!!!!!!

@sienna76: yes!! I think that will look perfect!!

Ok, don’t get mad at me for doing a complete remix of your outfits!
I would vote for the purple top with dark skinny jeans, scarf, and flats. I think the scarf with the purple top is absolutely perfect for a fall phootshoot and dark jeans will minimize your bottom half.
If you want to do an outfit change, I’d go with the red top, boot-cut blue jeans and a black cardigan. Keep the black flats the same.
Just one piece of advice; wear a dark cami under the purple top so it doesn’t show through. Good luck!!
