I sort of noticed that a lot of grooms are wearing nice suit, which I like especially since we're having our wedding at a rose garden. However, yesterday, FI seems adamant about wearing a tux. I think it's because he thinks all grooms wear it.
So what is your guy wearing on the wedding day?
My FI is in a suit!
I think they look so classy and nice... to me tuxes are a bit too overdone and sort of cheesy in a way.
His groomsmen thought it was really cool because the suit only cost about 30 bucks more than a tux would cost to rent and they can use them in the future!
If you are doing outdoor wedding, I think a suit would be really nice :)
My guy is wearing a tan colored suit. The groomsmen will be in matching suits, but my FI is going to wear a vest with his to make him stand out a little bit.
He's wearing a 3 piece suit! The GM will wear just 2 piece suits :)
Suit! Well, actually not even a full suit - just suit pants and a vest, no jacket!
Tux - like your FI he thinks that's what guys are supposed to wear. I would have picked a 3 piece suit.
not sure what its called exactly but its suit where the jacket comes a little furthur down around the hip i guess... that what he wants to wear. is it a morning jacket or something?
The guys will be in gray three piece suits. My FI really didn't want to wear a tux, and at least they'll have more opportunities to wear the suit in the future.
Me too, Fancygirl! The groomsmen are going to be in gray suits with lavendar vests and ties, and my fiance is in a gray suit with a white vest and tie.
Our bridesmaid dresses are a really bright yellow, and black just looked all wrong with it. Khaki was actually my first choice, but then we added lavender as an accent color and the gray ended up looking best.
@Chillmer - nice! Our groomsmen will have light green ties and my FI a light silver. :-)
my FH wants him and his guys to wear full on tails/top hats/canes. So be it!
The guys will have wine coloured vests/ties, and FH will wear ivory vest/tie
Both my FI and his groomsmen are wearing linen-like suits. We felt that with a beach wedding, it would be more appropriate to wear suits versus a tux. Plus, tuxedos are stuffy and we are the extreme opposite.
I would have picked suit, but FI really wants to wear a tux, so that's that
A suit. There's no way I can ever get my Fi in a tux, a suit is hard enough! BTW, he'll be wearing a suit he already has (semi-new, only uses it for work travel). But his tie is new and pretty spiffy looking, if I do say so myself
(I picked it out).
My FI is wearing a suit also. That way we're not wasting money on renting one.. he bought a nice suit that he will be able to wear on other occasions.
Tux! FI is like your guy -- he wants to wear one. I guess because he thinks he's supposed to?
FI wants to wear a suit, but I think once I put him in to a tux he'll know what I mean. I think men look so sharp and classy!
tux! it will probably be the one time he will wear one instead of a suit for a formal event unless one day he is a groomsmen/BM. he just went to try his on the other day but i opted not to go look at it! if he can't see my dress until the day of, then i don't want to see him in his tux until the day of :)
He's wearing a straight black suit with a tuxedo shirt and black tie. Best of both worlds!
Tux - he had one handmade in Hong Kong on a business trip to surprise me. And he *hates* neckties, so that removes the suit option.
I don't know, he won't tell me or let me see. He thinks it's only fair since he doesn't get to see mine (now mind you he REALLY doesn't want to see mine - he's being very old fashioned about it, it's cute)
I oringinally thought a suit was the best way to go, cool, casual and modern...but we're renting and going with tuxes instead...and bow ties! I am sooo looking forward to men in bow ties :) I was going nuts watching the oscars with all of the bow tie madness!!
my FI is wearing his Air Force mess dress. our military GM are wearing mess dress & civilian GMs are wearing traditional tuxes.
A tux!! He really wants to wear one because he already owns some suits and wears them for work. He said he wants to dress up more or something which I totally understand...and he said something about James Bond......
@ miss chicken - we noticed all the bowties at the Oscars too! I think they all looked H-O-T in them! It got me really excited for my FI to wear one! There's few occasions in life to wear a tuxedo...your wedding is definitely one of them!
This may be a stupid question, but what is the difference between a suit and tux?!
There are very few differences actually. My FI told me it's basically the lapel on a tux is made of satin. And there's one button versus two on the jacket. Sometimes there is a stripe of satin on the pant leg, but not always. That's why I don't get why people don't like tuxes; they are pretty much black suits
Hm, I'm not sure what we got for our men to wear! I don't think there is satin on it, especially no on the pants, but it said tux...? I think! Haha! I don't know! Its black though! :)
FI and his groomsmen will be in suits! We're not fans of tuxes...and since our wedding is in a garden/farm setting...we just felt suits would be more appropriate :-)
We're doing suits. We figured it would go better with the style we wanted for our wedding and FI already has one (we'll just have to see if it still fits!)
