Haha, I got my FI a personalized beer mug, he's got no idea >.> sneaky sneaky. Why do men all want/get beer things!?
I took him shopping because I wanted to get him a trench coat. He had to try them on. He isn't allow to wear it until Christmas. I never surprise him with any gifts, because I always bought things that he needs to try on.
We don't celebrate Christmas, but we sometimes get each other gifts this time of year.
I'm actually going to buy him a second carboy for his homebrew supplies in January. It was my idea, since it will make it much easier to move to secondary fermentation (if you don't know what this means, you will soon. ;) ) but he knows all about it. We're not really into surprise gifts or ceremony. We just like to buy each other things we know the other one wants at something approximating usual gift-giving times.
he would have been- except apparently two weeks ago my best friend gave it away because she thought I already told him. He kept it to himself until tonight when he said it was driving him nuts. Oh well- he now knows we are going to a football game (and I don't like football). He doesn't know the other two small gifts which are related to the game.
My SO has been talking alot about getting a Keurig lately, so I got him one for christmas. But I have this feeling that he got one for me too, lol. I also bought him alot of new clothes because his wardrobe is seriously lacking. I think he has an idea that I bought him clothes but he doesn't know exactly what I bought.
I actually kind of feel bad this year! We are getting married in 4 months (yay) and were in the process of buying a house along with every appliance for the house AND our anniversary is the day after Christmas so we got one thing for each other then little stocking stuffers. I got him a good pair of Oakley Sun glasses b/c he works outside and loves to fish so it was good for them. Then he got me a pair of sapphire earrings (yes we pick out our gift) then for stocking stuffers I just got him a bunch of little golf stuff!? He's obsessed with golf. But usually we go all out for both Christmas and our Anniversary and this year we held back a good bit and it actually makes me feel bad. He keeps telling me he's so excited to see me open my anniversary gift yet we agreed not to go expensive so I pretty much made something w/ our Engagement pictures.. now I feel bad!!!
Any suggestions for last minute Anniversary gifts?!?!?
It's kind of funny, we both wanted the same thing for the past two years. Last year we both wanted Citizen eco-drive watches, and this year we both wanted wallets. So there's no surprises here.
I chose other - because I'm pretty sure FI knows what he's getting for Christmas from me. While I haven't come right out & said what it is I have dropped major hints, or told him not to get something. He also told me what he wanted specifically.
Ah well. I like working off a list; so much less stressful.
A little bit.
His one present (cufflinks) I had ordered for his wedding gift, but am giving to him for Christmas so he doesn't go out and buy any. But when they came (off of ebay) the seller had printed half the name on the outside of the package!! !?!?!?!? So he knows part of it, but not that they are cufflinks. **angry face**
The other thing is a complete surprise. I hope he likes it. I didn't get to spend as much on him as I would've liked what with the wedding and a bunch of other stuff. Hopefully next year!
One of the presents will be a whole new experience for him. I'm sure he'll be surprised ... i think he will be uncomfortable at first but i really think he'll like it.
We don't celebrate christmas, but we do exchange gifts on New Year's Day (our new tradition!). And yes, I think he will be surprised! He has NO idea what I got him.
my DH wouldn't tell me anything about what he wanted, no hints or anything! he gave me nothing! arrrg. i got him a citizen eco drive watch for christmas (i found a GREAT deal, half off!), an 80's CD (he loves the 80's), some cologne, and a coin counter thing. (he had one, but it broke). eh, since he wouldn't give me any hints about what he wanted for Christmas, i hope he likes it...
He'll be surprised, but it's not like I got him anything crazy to the point he'll flip a lid over it. I got him a watch and a jacket--both things he actually needs. I'm more excited about the watch--i got it from Gilt and it has an orange face. We both love the color orange.
@EvaBostonTerrier: @bonsai_spork: I got my FI a beer brewing kit and a personalized beer mug too. I think he'll be surprised... now I just hope he likes it. :-)
My SO should hopefully be suprised. I picked out all his gifts but he realized that we probably post what we're getting our SO on weddingbee. I told him not to snoop so hopefully he hasn't bothered to look for the thread!
We did lists for our family members, but we both bought each other stuff that was NOT on the list this year. I got him a bunch of accessories for his laptop - a USB hub, a self supporting USB speaker, and a lapdesk.
He got me a beautiful chunky knit Martha Stewart throw blanket. :)
We exchanged last weekend because we're visiting family through the whole holiday season.
I know him well enough that I don't need suggestions... I knew he needed a new wallet and I remembered the one he was admiring. He loves comics and Family Guy so it wasn't really hard to find things he can enjoy. So I think he will definitley be surprised! (Except for the Family Guy DVDs I got him...I was so excited I kinda spilled the beans...he's excited!)
He picked out all my gifts himself...he said he knew what to get. I'm really happy he knows things I will like. Can't wait until Christmas!!!
He's quite hard to buy for as when he sees something he likes, he buys it. He picked out his main present and then as a surprise i've bought him a stocking and put things in it like Baileys and chocolates.
Merry Christmas bees ;)
Some things he will. He gave everyone a list (this is tradition in his family), so I got him a mixture of some things off the list (the rest of his family got the rest), a few things I knew he needed (socks haha), and then some fun things I thought he would really like (Office figure bobblehead, some board games because we've been into board games lately, etc).
Yepp he'll be surprised! He never knows what he wants. If we want something bad enough we budget for it and by it throughout the year for ourselves so its always hard.
My DH is nearly impossible to surprise or to buy gifts for because he buys everything he wants.
We were in Costco the other day and we saw this golf GPS thing and he said I should get it for him, but there were only 2 left so I'd better hurry. Well I can't get it with him standing there. I finally got it 2 days later. He even asked about it and I said they were gone so I could create a slight surprise. Next thing you know he's on the internet trying to buy one himself! I told him he is not allowed to buy himself anything until Christmas is over! Geesh!
I'm totally gonna have to pull the wrap in a totally weird shaped box with this one...

Just for fun :) Will your SO be surprised about his Christmas gift? Did he help pick it out?
I think my husband will be surprised. He has wanted to brew his own beer for a long time, so I went to a brewery and bought all of the equipment today. I can't believe I'm agreeing for him to brew beer in our house, but I think he'll enjoy it. I got a little worried because when we were eating dinner he was talking about how he is finally ready to buy the equipment, but he said he would wait until he gets his bonus in January - thank goodness! I didn't want to tell him what I purchased!
His other gift is an amplifier thingy for his headset - he e-mailed the link to me and I bought it online. I'm honestly not quite sure what it does...
Edit: On a side note, I feel a slightly bad for my husband. My birthday is between Christmas and New Years, so he has to shop for that too!
