Oh ME! ME!  I am tryinggggg to plan my wedding right below Wilmington around Fort Fisher/Carolina Beach.  Where are you and when!? :)

I'm in Raleigh NC but we are gonna get hitched at the Cape Fear river deck downtown on the riverwalk!  I thought I was all alone!!!! After the ceremony I want everyone to go back and chill out at Wrightsville Beach.

I am in the Leland area which is right across the river from Wilmy and have been looking at possible cheap or lowcost places to have a small wedding ceremony outside, then having reception/party at our home after.

Have thought about: Greenfield lake, Old Brunswick Town in the historic church remains, a couple other parks in the area but still thiking about it.

Orton Plantation is closed indefinitely as of June 1st! :(

Me!!  Well, 30 minutes South of Wilmington.  We currently live in Raleigh but our wedding will be at the Southport Community Building which looks over the Cape Fear River in Southport (right next to Oak Island).

We have decided on Brunswick Town which is right near Orton Plantation, but is histroical and on the river, and a plus for us, cheap. We are having the cereomony in the St Philip's church ruins there, an old brick church that is open and possibly our cake and champane reception down on a deck on the river. It is beautiful there and we can't wait~

You should check out Brunswick town historical site and the st philips church ruins there, it is so beautiful but it is on the river. It is kind of isolated so it is not similar to being on the river downtown wilmington, more looks like being on the intercoastal so might be worth checking into and taking a visit out there. YOu can do your ceremony in the church or on a boardwalk down on the water and they have a large covered area for a reception if you want too. They are very reasonably priced and you don't have specific time constraints, they have been very helpful and accomodating. Seems to be much easier to work with thtem than other places we have looked into too. We have looked at halyburton park event center in wilmington also but is not on any water there as well as silver coast winery near calabash but also not on the water.

We're getting married in Wilmington! Our wedding will be at Kenan Chapel in Landfall and our reception will be at 128 South! I love the downtown area, it's gorgeous!
