@miss.skinner   SO. JEALOUS. grrrrrrrrrrrr. hahaha, jk! that was my dream wedding but alas we cannot afford it.

I’m from Wilmington and live in Chapel Hill now, which is where our wedding will be! But I LOVE Wilmington weddings, such beautiful locations!

@ktbrady–yeah we are in the DC area so having a destination wedding to Bald Head was actually significantly cheaper than getting married anywhere NEAR the dc area.  Stupid high costs of living.  Your wedding will be gorgeous.  I love North carolina and the fall colors will be perfect at the time of your wedding.

I am in the Leland area which is right across the river from Wilmy and have been looking at possible cheap or lowcost places to have a small wedding ceremony outside, then having reception/party at our home after.

Have thought about: Greenfield lake, Old Brunswick Town in the historic church remains, a couple other parks in the area but still thiking about it.

Me!!  Well, 30 minutes South of Wilmington.  We currently live in Raleigh but our wedding will be at the Southport Community Building which looks over the Cape Fear River in Southport (right next to Oak Island).

Ooooo Chrissy, I’m jealous!!  We’re getting married in Southport, too but I didn’t want to wait a long time (we’ve been dating for 7 years) so we’re getting married in St James Plantation.  I LOVE the Community Building.  I’m sure your wedding will be amazing!!  Great time of year, too.  πŸ™‚

I’m currently in the process of finding make-up and hair people for our wedding.  Have you found yours yet?  Obviously, you have some time.  πŸ™‚

We have decided on Brunswick Town which is right near Orton Plantation, but is histroical and on the river, and a plus for us, cheap. We are having the cereomony in the St Philip’s church ruins there, an old brick church that is open and possibly our cake and champane reception down on a deck on the river. It is beautiful there and we can’t wait~

Hey Wilmington ladies I too am getting married here and am in need of some major ceremony site help. I’m on a super tight budget and am desperate to find a ceremony site on the intracoastal waterway or on a channel or creek. I want to avoid the beach if possible due to the wind, and the river isn’t really what I’ve got in mind. I’m not opposed to renting out a house with a backyard on the waterway…but it seems you have to know someone willing to rent out their space for a few hours…and I don’t πŸ™ If anyone knows of anything close to WB that they could suggest I would be eternally grateful! Thanks and good luck to all with the planning…this stuff isn’t easy!
