Our wedding is June 6, 2009 in Florida and we are able to provide our own alcohol. We’ll have a full bar with beer, liquor and wine. I am a little stumped over certain brands of wine to buy. I think with the heat, more people will drink white than red. Do you all have any favorite Sauvignon Blancs, Pinot Gris and any Pinot Noirs or other light whites and reds. I don’t want to break the bank, but I do want them to taste good!

I have purchased my own alcohol as well. I wanted to try to get the larger bottles for convenience. I went with the Rex the Goliath brands becasue they were pretty tasty (of course I sampled Pinot Grigio and Pinot Noir) and they came in the big bottles. We’ll see soon how they go over!

My fave white is Dr. Beckerman’s Reinheisen from Trader Joe’s. It’s $4.99 a bottle. I love it. A red i like is a chilean cabernet or a pinot noir.

I second the Rex Goliath–a good wine at a lower price point.
Banrock Station is usually really cheap, and I think it’s really good (esp their reds), but I’m not sure it has those lighter whites? I’ve just seen chardonnay from them, but I’m not 100% sure.
For other whites, Barefoot is reasonably priced and their whites are usually good.

mmmm….I LOVE Joel Gott Sauvignon Blanc, it tastes great in the summer and is under $10/bottle
