We only did 8.  I really doubt we are going to have a formal dinner with more than 8 people.

I agree with MissAsB and would go for 8. I think that is actually pretty standard, and I don’t you will use more than that. 🙂

If you don’t want the goblets, you could always return them for credit and get something else.  We only got one set of wine glasses, not ones for red and white.  And no champagne flutes.  We got margarita glasses and martini glasses though!

We’re registering for five different kinds of glasses, but eight of each.

We’re getting 8 of each of the ones we actually use (ie not a full set).  We figure 4 won’t be enough because it wouldn’t be all that uncommon to have a couple of other couples over for dinner and drinks or whatever.

We registered for 12.. but i have a large family, so holidays usually has about 12 people at our house, and I would like to have enough of our nice stemware for everyone!

We registered for 10 of everything because that is the size of table my dad is building for me (well, max seating 10). But 8 and 12 are the standard sets. Either is totally fine.

We did 12, but we’re big wine-os.  We like to have wine tastings and multi-wine dinners at our house, so we go through glasses like a champ.  It’s all about what fits your lifestyle!

Can you get 12 red wine and then 8 of all the rest?  I think red wine is what you will use the most.
