@MaraBeth: I've been thinking about it recently and have no clue. :( I'd love to see what other people are doing.
It's good luck in my culture to wear red on your wedding day, since I'm NOT doing that, I picked up a red dress for the RD. I ended up finding a red knee length dress similar to the one below (the rouching is much nicer looking rather than wrinkly looking...):

I am!
We aren't doing a traditional rehearsal dinner due to the Thanksgiving holiday but we are doing a night before cocktail reception for all out-of-town guests. I have no idea what to wear. I love the idea of white or ivory dresses but it seems too springy for me.
So ideas would be helpful!
@yellowshoe: That dress is cute! I love the neckline.
I feel like I might abandon my idea for something white,..there just aren't a lot of options. I'd like to find something with some color or a bold print instead of black. I'm also trying to find something to double as a dress for my AHR in Minnesota, so sleeveless is probably out of the question. If anyone else has any inspiration pics..keep 'em coming :)
I thought very briefly about wearing my mom's wedding dress for the rehearsal dinner, since I'm wearing my own for the wedding, but FI vetoed that one REALLY fast. It's way too wedding-gown-like. It's got a cathedral-length train. :-\
I am wearing a black wrap dress. It has sleeves and I am jazzing it up with some fancy jewelery and nice shoes.
We are doing an open wine and cheese type thing at my parents house in lieu of a traditional rehersal dinner as well.
This is what I'm wearing for my going away dress but I was thinking of wearing the same one for the rehersal - is that bad luck?
It's a bill levkoff bridesmaid dress and I ordered it in ivory. The lace top and belt are accessories for my actual wedding dress which I may or may not wear as part of my going away outfit. I also have a faux black fur coat for outside.

I haven't found one yet, either.. but I was considering this one... it is avaliable in "winter white" but I don't think it is dressy enough. It's from Victoria's Secret.
I'm not even trying to find a white dress because I know it will be difficult to find one and I don't think I have the time.
I bought this dress on the weekend and am considering it for the RD (with a cardigan on top) and maybe even our family xamas celebration (it's kinda formal). do you think it's bad if I wear it once before the RD??
I am wearing this dress in winter white for my rehearsal! Its a rustic wedding in the mountains, not a real formal dinner so I think it will work. Still waiting for it to arrive though
Ooh I'll play. I've always wanted an excuse to wear a bright red dress without people looking at me funny, so what better time than at my own rehearsal dinner? I found one at Macy's that I'm actually planning on buying this weekend.

My weddding isnt until next winter..but in the mean time i did pick up a very pretty flowy white dress.... it only has spaghetti straps but i also picked up a beauiful pashima....I still have time to change my mind tho! Good luck hunting!

I'm shopping around for a RD dress and it's hard to find something I like with that will be warm enough for winter. I've been to a lot of summer wedding RDs where brides wore white, but I can't seem to find very many winter-y white dresses that would be warm enough. What are you winter bees wearing for your rehearsal dinner?
