So we just scheduled our e-pics and we are doing them in Feb. sooo yeah….I am so lost on what to wear!
Abit about me that may help someone point me in the right direction….
I am about 5’3 i wear a street size 20….I carry most of my weight in my lower stomach and thighs….I am large chested….short legs….shorter torso….i am kinda a smushed pear with big boobs (lol this is how i often describe myself)….
I usually dont get to dress up very much 90% of my life im in scrubs at work or in jeans and boots and a hoodie or crappy t-shirts at the farm….and I am REALLY looking forward to feeling feminine, and like a woman….
we arent going black tie by anymeans….and our photographer is taking us to a park to do our pics that we both adore….and i am a smart ducky and will be bringing blankets!! to keep us worm when not shooting….
I just really want to feel cute and girly….
anyone have any ideas???

@kansas_nurse: There might be some ideas in this post:
I think it looks great when Bees have more than one outfit. It may take some creativity in finding a place to change, but it gives you a couple of different looks.
What helps me in planning an outfit is looking at some of the blogs. Check out these bloggers. find one that you think resembles your figure and check out their outfits.
I you find an outfit you like and want to find something similar, come back and post about it so we can help you find something.
Do you think an outfit like this would work for you? (the one on the right)

I’m not sure how cold it will be outside, but have you considered wearing a cute coat, scarf and gloves (except during for those pretty ring shots)? Add the right make-up and perhaps some tights/boots if you’re wearing a dress/skirt, and bam – a super feminine and gorgeous look.
Don’t forget to get some pictures of you and your SO cuddled under the blanket 🙂

@kansas_nurse: Yay for pictures! 🙂 I JUST had mine done on Saturday and right on the water at 9am. Literally. Standing on a dock for 75% of them. It was COLD. I definitely recommend the 2 outfit advice. My photographer recommended one casual look and one fancy look. We started with fancy since it was easier to change out of that than into it in a park bathroom. I paired a black sweater dress with cute tights, tall boots and my favorite winter coat – red wool coat that the photographer was in love with. Then for casual I did the jeans I’m most comfortable in and a cowl neck sweater (always make sure your neck is visible – more flattering, I’m told). I’m sure my mom won’t be happy that I wore the distressed jeans, but I knew I’d feel more confident and therefore LOOK more confident if I wore the pair that fit my body the best currently. 🙂 Have fun!! I also had heels on for each outfit to help make me look just a bit taller. The jeans were long enough that I don’t think you could tell on those shots.

@flying_hearts: I love the blanket picture too cute!

@Soon2BeMrsS: hmm good idea on doing the fancy clothes first!!! I hadnt thought about the neck deal!! I am planning on purchasing a dressier coat soon….I was planning on getting those sock deals that you can wear warm socks with your heels, but still see the top of the foot….to wear with jeans…..but I am short so most of my jeans are long enough on me that unless I pull them up i could wear regular tights as well!! and no one would know….

We just got our winter engagement photos back…
I think pretty coat is a must in a winter park 🙂

I’m actually kind of sad our photos were in the fall and a blanket wasn’t necessary – though it was cold enough to need a coat (which wasn’t the plan at all). Here’s one of our photos just to give you another example of how coats look in e-pics. Good luck figuring out your outfit! I can’t wait to see photos 🙂

I’m a size 14-16 and am taking my pics wearing a coat and colorful scarf & boots outside next weekend. I’ve been wondering exactly what colors to wear and hope that they come out good…I think we’ll both do black coats/jeans, but then also do some pics with sweaters on and no coats.

@kansas_nurse: Well, I’m a size 14 (occasionally 16) so I guess I just tow the line of being plus size, but I do feel your pain. I’d suggest Modcloth for some cute options.
FH and I actually had a winter engagement photoshoot just before Christmas and had three outfits: . For the casual one I went with boots, coat, scarf, and a pretty dress. And for a more formal look I went with a party dress, a black fur stole and a pair of heels. The other one was an homage to a movie that we don’t have to get into right now.
Do you think a dress like this would be good for your shape? I think it would look awesome under a coat with some boots.

leggings and sweater dresses/tunics, scarves, pea coats, winter blankets, boots. All good things!
