- Wedding: November 2011
DH and I are trying to live cash only (NO credit except what we are paying off) and have alot of time this winter to go on vacation. I am in college, and have 44 days for Christmas break. We really don’t want to spend the whole time in our apartment.
We live in upstate/western NY, and would like to avoid flying – we are up for driving or the train – 1500 miles is ok – we are 1300 from Disney World. Someplace semi-warm or warm would be great (IE no 2 feet of snow in a week places). We are willing to look at missions trips. A road trip is also ok.
No skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing or other winter sports – we just aren’t into them. I love spa’s, and FI will do anything that I like to do (he has his solo vaca in November for hunting camp). Someplace that has a few good restaurants, art galleries, maybe a museum or two that are fun, bar, but not overly overly crowded with skiiers.
If we stay in one place, I would love somplace with a kitchen/ette, and fireplace. Maybe something like a cabin or house rental?
Under $2k all in (food/gas/lodging/attractions) for about a week – and that’s a little flexible, but not much.
I can do the research to keep it cheap if I can get general location ideas.
Pleaes help! Any ideas? I promise photos 🙂
