1@julies1949: I LOVE the first one!! Thank you. I'm gonna check that website out.
@julies1949: thanks so much for the link, im also having a winter wedding, and found so many inspirational pics on that site, wow! Deffinately what i was desperately trying to google search for before :P, Thankfully tomorrows friday, so ill have all weekend to check it out :)
I love the cake pictures you posted. Mainly because my theme is tiffany blue and red but I absolutely love the cake with the snow covered acorns, very wintery it makes me feel like there's snow outside looking at it.
I would check theknot.com, thats where I found the my cake. Here is a pic:
I love the one with the pinecones!
These are great ideas! Don't worry nurselindsey we haven't finalized our cake either! Hoping to get that done next week though.
@jenandchris: Duh!! Why did I write acorns??! I meant pinecones - I love the pinecones.
While I don't know much about cake design, consider incorporating winter cake FLAVORS, too, like pumpkin cake with cream cheese frosting, or spice/carrot cake.
We tried them and LOVED them for our cake, but it wasn't too springy so we went with one tier being a white chocolate cake/lemon curd/cream cheese frosting/coconut flakes for a bright spring flavor.
I think that would help tie in the season with your look if you are in to that stuff!
@nurselindsey: Thanks! I found that picture and thought it would be a nice design but I'm not doing the roses. I'm trying to think of something else to put there instead.
@jindc: All those flavors sound delicious! I had already planned on doing on tier carrot cake, just because that's my favorite kind lol, but I'm glad to see that goes with the winter theme :)
@beth1125: I just fell in love with that cake!!! I may steal this from you. Thank you so much fo posting!
@rachaelrobin: I'm glad I'm not alone!! Lol I guess somehow I let this important detail slip by. Luckily, my aunt used to own a bakery and is doing my cake for me (for free might I add!!) so there's no major rush :)
@nurselindsey:More than happy to help!! We stole bits and pieces of it for ours. Be sure to post pics after your big day!

I know I'm probably a little late in the game doing this, but I still haven't chosen my wedding cake! I can't seem to find one that I like. Since I'm getting married in January, I'd really like to find a "winter" type cake. My wedding colors are turquoise & ivory with royal blue accents. Does anyone have any pictures or know of anywhere I can find pictures of this type of cake? Or, maybe does anyone have any ideas of their own?
Thanks :)
