My wedding is February 2, I live in Canada and will be expecting at the very least very cold, and probably snow. So, obviously I am doing a snowy winter theme wedding! lol
Right now my theme is “Rustic Winter”, and colours are white, silver and “nature” (burlap, pine cones, twigs, ice, etc.) Im going more for a romantic, winter cabin feel with lots of candles, than a certain colour scheme.
My girls are wearing black dresses of their choice, the guys are wearing tuxes with mossy oak camo vests (yes. thats the only thing he realllllly wanted in this wedding). They actually look nice, and its some what where I got the idea for nature etc.
So…my Future Mother-In-Law and mom both think I need to add another colour. I really dont think there is anything wrong with having a white wedding, I think it is classy! But, alas I need other brides opinions…Im convinced the moms are just traditional. What do you all think? I cant figure out how to put a poll in here….
ALSO- I wanted to use some green garland, like you use at christmas time, but just plain by itself…is it too christmasy for a Feb wedding?

I think a white wedding would be classy! And I think the garland would look great, especially if it’s not decorated it shouldn’t be too Christmasy.

I think your color scheme is great with the added “nature” items, plus your girls are wearing black, so that is your third color. I suggest having them wear silver jewelry and shoes to tie in with your other two colors which are white and silver.
Instead of using christmas green garland made of pine, why not go for something like this? I just googled natural garland and looked at “images” there was a bunch of stuff and places to buy it.

@mishagirls79: Oh those are nice! I never thought about something like that 😉 And I thought about silver shoes, I just wasnt sure how it would look with black dresses, since they all are going with tea length…I am wearing silver shoes though

I think it’s going to look amazing. I love the simplicity of neutral colours. I’m going with white, ivory, champagne and silver.

That is sheer elegance! Love it! I’m not having a “color either.” Lots of ivory, the natural wood in the venue, and girls are in neutral dresses. Love, love, love your color scheme 🙂

I love neutral tone weddings. I had grey/green/white as my wedding colours, and I didn’t think it looked bland at all.

@kjo: I think your ideas will be lovely.
If you want to use grapevine garland, be aware that you can soak it in warm water to make it more flexible so you can do traditional garland swags. If you can get the measurements of your venue ahead of time, you can do this weeks ahead so it is dried in the exact form you need to use.

@kjo: I love the idea of a rustic winter wedding! I had a winter wedding my first time around, but it wasn’t rustic. I used a dark green as an accent color. Which that could work for you since it’s also a nature/rustic color. But I think you don’t need another color…what you have planned sounds perfect!

Im Ivory Black Silver and Cobalt blue! I needed a good pop so chose blue!

I’m doing almost the same colours..the only thing different is that my dress is purple, but i’m not really using that colour anywhere else, just the black white and silver…so, in my opinion, I think yours is going to look fantastic!!!!

I think since you have the nature elements and not all just silver and white, it would be fine 🙂

I love the neutral colors idea, I think they are so beautiful in pictures!

That sounds really elegant. Can you please find a way to incorporate these lights? I think they’re so cute!
