We orginally planned to do a winter wedding but then I forgot that I hate the cold.

On the other hand, I believe there are more things you can do decoration wise with a winter wedding than you can with with any other season. I think winter weddings are much more beautiful.

@Jellybones:  I’m SO jealous right now! I completely swoon over Winter weddings, especially since they’re extra gorgeous here in the Pacific Northwest. I won’t bore you with the thousands of gorgeous Pinterest and Lover.ly results that you get…but you get the idea with these.

If we could elope all over again, it’d be a mountain winter wedding for SURE!

I’m getting married in February and we’re doing a winter wonderland theme. The great thing about winter weddings is that vendors will drop their prices, and since you said finances are playing a role, this might be a great option for you. Plus we found a ton of great ideas for centerpieces. Good luck!

I’ve never been to one but I’m having one! We’re getting married November 10th in the mountains. The same weekend last year it was -20C and snowing so I’m pretty sure ours will qualify as a winter wedding!

The weird thing is that I hate winter and being cold. But, winter weddings look beautiful and there are so many options for things to do.

@Jellybones:

I live in the U.S. in the southwestern area and we too have crazy winters. One week it can be decently warm and the next week, bitterly cold, snowing and then the next week warm again. Lets just say, lots of people get sick because of the sudden temp. change where I live.

Good luck!

We are having a winter wedding (December), but more of out necessity than anything else. For various reasons, we don’t want to wait until next spring/summer, and this summer was cutting it too fine.. so December it is!

We aren’t really going to do much to play up the winter theme… but there are definitely tons of things you can do. If you can stand it, take photos outdoors lol. Our venue is ideal for a winter wedding.. I think venue choice is possibly the most important decision you can make if you’re limited to indoors.

We got married in January…it was unseasonably warm and sunny at around 54 degrees, lol, totally ruined my vision of snowy pictures, but in the mid Atlantic you can never guarantee weather. I have ALWAYS planned on having an indoor wedding (I freaking hate nature, heat, bugs, bird poop, rain, etc) and I have ALWAYS wanted to avoid a summer wedding (I was sweaty enough dancing in a strapless light dress in January, I can’t imagine what a gross mess I’d be if it was at all hot outside!), and MLK day weekend happened to be the best date when all family members and friends who were still in school could make it since they had the long weekend, so it was a matter of convenience. We did various shades of blue just because that’s the color I always wanted, but due to the season it did end up looking a little winter wonderland/glacial…

Our “winter” weather was so mild we took pictures outdoors…in the sun:
