OOhh I actually changed my mind earlier about doing a "christmas theme" though I was going to do red with gold. However I am still doing the candles and pinecones and the branches too.
What if you did red candles instead of the ivory/white colored ones? And also around your centerpieces do red and silver ornaments laying around them?
What about having silver snowflakes dangling from the branches and then having little votives around it with floating tea candles that are red around it? Sometimes it's just about putting in a couple things with your colours to tie everything together. You can go red and silver accents on the escort cards and the menu cards on the tables to tie everything together.
Well, first of all... what about painting the branches white and hanging crystals from them? That brings in the white and sorta silvery crystal!
And then, for red, use red taper candles in glass candlesticks with pinecones around the base... perhaps alternate both as centerpieces? Or use red pintuck satin linens for a nice, rich-red feel. Something my sister and I did for a christmas party once was to halfway fill a tall vase with red holly berries, then threw in a candle on top. We actually left it in the apartment for two weeks when we went on vacation and came back and it still looked great, so you could even pick the holly berries ahead of time (I'd only suggest a couple of days).
Also, what about red ball glass ornaments for seating assignments, with the person's name on them in silver and then a tag with their table number?
Are you renting tables? Think about bringing in a rustic looking table for the guestbook or something, decorated with pinecones, pine branches and red candles in hurricane vase, perhaps.
I was THISCLOSE to having a winter wedding, I have tons of ideas, lol--just PM me if you need more!
great ideas! and so fast!! I like the idea of having a different colored candle instead of just the white!! and silver, red ornaments on the table...that's good too!
Do you think that I could still have some pinecones on the table with the silver/red ornaments?
Also, I have no idea what to do with my linens..my venue upgraded my linen choice and included an overlay if I want it...but I don't know a thing about linens...

Hi Bees...looking for some feedback on my christmas colored winter wedding theme...getting married on December 18,2010...love Christomas-so going with red, silver and white...but I want it to be more of an outside feeling inside..so was thinking of branches, candlelight, pinecones...but then not sure of how to get the red, silver and white colors with that...ideas, pictures to share??
