Sorry I’m bored
SO my FI have been talking and he thinks I’m strange. I’m 25 and only have one of my wisdom teeth so far. One is about to come through the other two are no where in sight. Am I odd?
I had baby teeth into high school. They had to pull 6 baby teeth when I was 14 to give me braces and my adult teeth didn’t come in until I was almost 17. My teeth seem to be late bloomers. Anyone else like this?
If you got them all, how old were you when your last one came in?

Some people never see their wisdom teeth because they’re deep down and/or impacted.
I have all four of mine and never needed them pulled.

I didnt have my wisdom teeth out until well into my thirties.

The women in my family tend to have no wisdom teeth, genetically. I had one and it was pulled when I was about 31.

I don’t fit anywhere in the poll. I had mine cut out before they ever had a chance to come through. Two were impacted so they took them all out when I was about 14. That was 30 years ago.

Mine were all impacted. I never had any sign of them until I was about 20, and I could feel the top ones under my gums. They didn’t really move or anything until about a year ago (age 23), when I suddenly started getting horrible headaches & jaw pain. I had them all out & all the pain stopped 🙂 My dad had all of his wisdom teeth come in slowly, and they were all fine. My mom had no room for them so she had hers pulled. My brothers are currently coming in & he’s 19, so maybe he will be lucky & won’t need them pulled. DH had his out at 19, all were impacted and really pushing on his other teeth.

I’m 21, and none of mine have surfaced at all.
I have to go make an appointment with an orthodontist to see if they need to be removed at all, but I’m waiting until after the wedding.

@tksjewelry: Ha! I knew I wasn’t a freak of nature! Glad to know I will get them some day.
@Westwood: Never as in they never come out at all and just stay in the gums the whole life? I’ve never heard that before, that’s interesting. I wonder if that will be what happens to me. FI jokes I’m just not as wise as he is because I don’t have all my wisdom teeth yet and it’s taking so long for them to come out

I had my wisdom teeth out a couple years ago, I think I was 21 or so? DH had his out a couple months ago at 24.

I only had 3 and had them all pulled when I was 26 I think.

@pinkgreenandyellow: I had 5 wisdom teeth (yes, 5, one was an adult tooth that surfaced in the wrong place). They came in when I was about 26 and I had them surgically removed, not pulled. It was a bit disgusting but didn’t hurt really.

I’m 24 and I got all 4 out at once when I was 16.
I did not select anything, I had all four come in (two all the way, two half way) and had them removed when I was 21. I am 30 now

I don’t have any wisdom teeth…and according to my dentist, I never did. He asked me when I went there for the first time a few years ago, “when did you have your wisdom teeth pulled?” I told him Never! After reviewing my x-rays and calling in pretty much everyone else that works there, he surmised that I have never had wisdom teeth.

@the boss of you: So I’m learning from this post 🙂 I didn’t know some people didn’t have wisdom teeth, I just figured it was something everyone got. So you only had one total? I wonder if any others will come out, there just seems to be no room at all on the top side of my mouth for the other one to come through. I had braces in high school, I hope if it does come out it doesn’t mess up the straight teeth.
@OctBride-2012: Ouch! Did that hurt? They considered using chains and drilling into my gums to pull my adult teeth out when I had braces in high school because it was nearly 3 years of braces before they came through. But my teeth started popping out right on que when they mentioned that lol
@pecanpie: I hope because mine are coming in slowly I wont have much pain with mine like your dad. But my FI’s wisdom teeth are breaking away and he has to have them pulled, does it hurt? How bad is it?
@rachelmichelle: Good luck with your appointment, whatever happens I hope it’s not painful and works out great for you 🙂
