I had my wisdom teeth out last Friday. Today is Thursday and while the extraction sites are recovering nicely, the stitches in my upper right cheek are KILLING ME. They give me stabbing pains. It feels like they are tearing my skin apart. The surgeon says they’re fine. He suggests swishing warm salty water, taking ibuprofen and tylenol (I’m tired of taking Vicodin. It gives me headaches and I can’t work because my brain feels like it’s underwater).
I had to leave work early today because I started feeling exhausted. I just realized that I think I’m getting a cold now. GREAT! My parents visit us this weekend and I think I’ll just be a crying puddle on the floor and not any fun at all. Yes, I’m being dramatic but I can’t take it any more! I’m tired of this couch. Tired of missing work. Tired of not eating crunchy veggies and foods I like. Tired of not having a glass of wine. Tired of not exercising at all.
Ok, end of rant. Sorry Bees. Just had to get it out there.

Aww 🙁 I had my wisdom teeth out a few months ago.. I did not enjoy the recovery very much! I had stitches in my cheek and they drove me almost insane. Definitely swish with the salt water, it really seemed to help me. I hope you feel better soon!

@ChuckNorris: That was my worst fear! The good news is I’m told I’m mostly past that risk now. I can’t imagine the pain.
@pecanpie: Thanks for the sympathy too! Definitely sick. 🙁

Omg it was not fun…and packing it with that clove stuff? DISGUSTING. And having to go back every day when you’re drugged up on Vicodin…ugh. It was awful. But having I cold with wisdom teeth pain would not be the business. lol

Aww you poor thing 🙁 I had two out a few weeks back. I had to leave work on my first day back as I still had issues talking. Went back to the dentist and they took my stitches out as they were pulling on me, cleaned the holes (ew) and packed it up with this antispectic gel. Once the gel started working which was almost immediately, I had no more pain. Did the salt water rinse for a few more days and then back to normal.
If its still causing you this much grief I’d be going back. It shouldn’t be hurting you any more.
