The first time I had to be seperated from my ring was painful – 10 days to get it sized… Little did I know, I’m now on week 7 of being ringless, as Im having a custom band made. I’ve got approx 4 weeks left without it, if all goes according to plan… It’s killing me! I don’t want to buy a cheapy plastic ring or fashion ring, as i think my left ring finger is strictly reserved for MY ring.
I must say, i’ve spent a lot more time checking out the gallery on here and looking at rings on line in general.. And girls, your men have done AWESOME… There is some seriously beautiful bling out there.
How many other bee’s have been in my position? What did you do to cope?

I had to go about 3 weeks without mine. We were on a huge time crunch for wedding planning and I had the jewler attach the wedding band to the ring while I had time, which meant I couldn’t wear the ring until the wedding. It was seriously tough. I “felt” for it ALL the time, which was odd because I’d only had it about 3 months, we had a pretty short engagement.

I was just without mine for a little over two weeks while it was being polished and resized. I bought a stand in ring but I see you’re not interested in that approach.

I reallyyyyy need to get my ring sized, but I just do NOT want to part with it.

It’s been 7 weeks, and I STILL squeeze my fingers together to check if it’s there. Sigh. Got some serious attachment to my bling, can’t wait to have it back!

I’ve never been without my ring, although I may need to get it redipped soon. Since you aren’t interested in a stand-in ring, maybe start a letter to your Fiance of all the things you love and miss about your ring. You can add in qualities about him that you admire also. Get creative and try to think of qualities that connect to a ring (i.e. you’re strong, like a diamond or something)
When you get the ring back, give him the letter of appreciation saying that you adore your ring, hated being without it, and that he did a really nice job picking it out. It may help the time go by faster, and you’ll have a lovely note of appreciation for your Fiance.

I have not received my ring yet, however we have picked it out and I got to wear it in the store for about 20 minutes or so. It was very strange after we left cause it literally felt like it was missing from my finger, so I can’t imagine how you ladies must feel!

My ring is just a bit too big, but not to the point where it spins or falls off. But I’ve had it almost a year and haven’t sent it to be resized b/c I don’t want to be without it. At first, I figured after I had it awhile it would be easier, but it’s the exact opposite. And Fiance ordered it out of NY, so between shipping there/back and resizing, it’ll be gone at least two weeks :-[

I waited 12 weeks – it was awful! (Mine was being resized in NYC while I was living in the United Kingdom!) I ended up with a temporary ring that I wore in the interim period, that I swapped to my right hand once my e-ring was back! 🙂

Have you considered wearing a temorary ring?
