((HUGS))) So sorry you have to go thru this. FI and I are having money problems as well, my dad's getting totally screwed at work due to the economy and we are now paying for the wedding all by ourselves. We had money saved to buy a house, now we're using it to pay for our wedding.
I have been bitter about my situation, but I am firm believer that everything happens for a reason, and I know things will work out for you guys. I have no real advice, just wanted to let you know your not alone.
Is there anyone you would be feel comfortable asking for a small loan from? Or along the lines of selling things, we are having a massive garage sale to try and add to our wedding fund! Also, although I'm not really an advocate of using credit, I know a few couples who have paid for what they can with a credit card and put some of the money they received as gifts towards the balance after the wedding.
*hugs* Hang in there! MrsSl82be is right, everything happens for a reason. This is going to work out, just keep your chin up!
Ah, wouldn't wedding planning be so fun if money and life didn't get in the way?! Just keep planning and the money will come. It always does!
Oh no, kjpug! I am sorry to hear this. Try not to stress too much. Think positive. Good luck.
hey KjPugs, so sorry to hear this is happening! I agree with Katertot's advice, try getting a small loan either from a close and trusted family member / friend, put the balance on a credit card that has no balance, or take out a small loan from the bank...not the best thing to do, but if you could put the deposit down with the loan / cc and then pay it off as much as you can, i think you will be okay.
hang in there, things always have a way of working themselves out. and regardless, know that you and your FI are in this together, and you'll find a way out! best of luck!
Oh no, how awful! Could you borrow some money from your families and swear you'll pay it back?
Things have a way of working themselves out, but it really sucks that wedding cost this much. On top of that we've had all kinds of outside money issues too (my ex quit paying child support just to be a jerk, problems with renters in the rental houses, my car breaking down). I just can't wait for it to all be over so we can start rebuilding our savings accounts

Just found out we owe $1300 + lawyer fees in this stupid thing that's been going on with FI. That's most of what we had saved for the first payment at our venue, due in October.
I'm just so sad and hoping we can make it work... people have already bought flights for our March wedding. And I already have a 2nd job. Why can't this be easy? Can't people just igve us our gifts now instead of in March (LOL... jk.)
Just needed to vent. I'll be going on a selling spree this coming week...
