I don’t know if this was already posted (I looked around but didn’t find it).
Apparently this woman posted on her Facebook: “Another 4 years of this (N-word). Maybe he will get assassinated this term.” She was since fired from her job after public outcry in her community and is now under federal investigation.
What do you Bees think? Overreaction? Deserved it?

Hmn, federal investigation for being a racist idiot? A bit much. We should treat those with less intellectual ability than the rest of us with some sympathy.

Yeah that seems like over reacting. To me that is just as bad as someone getting fired, or harassed at work because of their political views. Plus, it is Facebook for crying out loud and she is voicing her opinion….it’s stupid and racist but doesn’t need to get like this.

You have to be careful about what you put on the web. I certainly wouldn’t want someone working for me who put that sort of information out there. And her comments verge on being threatening, so I see why the secret service is involved. Stupid shit to say.
I understand why both her former employer and the authorities had their reactions. First of all, her blatant racism would definitely have a negative effect on her employer’s business and second, the secret service must investigate any perceived threat. Obviously this investigation won’t go far but what if it did? What if she was like that man mentioned in the article? What is she had terrorist connections? Not likely but I still don’t believe it’s an overreaction to look into it…now if they slapped cuffs on her and shipped her off to Guantanamo Bay then yes, a definite overreaction! lol

Calling him an “n” and wishing for an assassination is totally uncalled for. You can express your displeasure with the election outcome without resorting to racist slurs and death threats. Bitch deserved it.

@bowsergirl: +1. Just because you are free to voice your opinion doesn’t mean that you should suffer no consequences. This woman represents her company and that’s a very negative image.
I also don’t think it’s too much to investigate anyone who voices hope of a presidential assasination

She should have been fired. Just nasty and uneducated behavior.
Yeah I think its pretty remarkable how stupid some people can be. I don’t care what you think about Obama, but it is inappropriate to hope for the death of anyone, especially the President of the United States.
I think she should be investigated thoroughly and deserves any punishment she gets from her employers, since she obviously has an incredibly bad judgement and insane immaturity. Also, facebook is not your living room, and you have to know that you will be found out.

A federal investigation is a bit much.
She’s just another fucking idiot that seriously thinks that everything she puts on FB is private.
yeah… well.. free speech. I’m a big fan of it. Obama is the prez, people are going to say horrible things about any prez, it comes with the job.
And let it be known that I lean very, very left and am no apologist for bigotry. If she said this about her neighbor I’d be much more concerned.

im gonna guess some of the “what the big deal?’ replies here arent african american. im glad she was fired. i would hate to be working with a racist idiot like that. she might have had AA coworkers. how akward that wouldve been.

It’s illegal to talk about hurting other people, especially the president. They have to take every threat seriously because someone might be psycho enough to do it. I think she was stupid enough, so they have to launch an investagation, just to be safe.
@DrTeeth: Definitely deserved it. That is horrible, no matter your stand on the election IMO.
Yeah… don’t think that she’s a real threat, so the investigation is maybe unnecessary. But I wouldn’t want someone racist with violent attitudes (even if they didn’t act on them) working for me, to be honest.
