Discretion was an institution in my upbringing, and regardless of what you saw, heard or knew…it was frowned upon in a big way to share that with someone else regardless of your motives…..but life was really different then, and short of sending someone else a copy of a letter or a photo of them doing whatever, everything would be second hand, which is a step above back fence gossip in my opinion….
Now, someone can forward a text, an e-mail, a video or a picture with no effort what so ever and let the cat out of the bag before the person being snitched on has a second to gather their thoughts….
I’m just wondering….where’s the line between being a helpful and concerned party and a trouble starting gossip monger….where’s your line? What would you break the silence for and how would you feel if someone informed on you?
