Okay so, My FI really likes the look of the wood inlay bands. However I have no idea about materials, cobalt, tungsten, whatever either.
Have any of you purchased a ring with a wood inlay? If so how does it hold up?
Other than that what are materials to steer away from in mens wedding bands? I want to get something that will last him a life time obviously and I am not sure where to go and what to look for!

We were thinking about getting him one of these. There are a ton of options on Etsy that are pretty inexpensive and look really nice. But, I’m not sure it’s a great option if you really want it to last forever…. wouldn’t wood kind of wear away over time?

My husband has one that is wood inlay and one that is deer antler. The deer antler one has a waterproof coating on it. Wood will soak up water, so if you want it to last longer, get the a waterproof coating.

@Cory_loves_this_girl: I didnt even think about the wood soaking up water. What jeweler did you go through if you don’t mind me asking?
I have seen the ones on etsy and even amazon has some for like 20 bucks. But i am scared to waste money on something that will be flimsy or wear.

@deannaclaws: We bought his wood inlay ring from amazon for $40 as his stand in ring, and his deer antler ring from jewelry by Johan on etsy for around $375.
