I’m getting married in June and have just recently changed from peacock inspired to woodland theme. The ceremony will be outside on the bank of a river. The reception will be inside a large cabin. Does anyone have any ideas for decor? I’m looking for mason jars, tree stumps and slices, moss, birds and cages, etc. Pictures or inspiration boards would be great.

You should totally make manzanita trees for center pieces! a lot of people use them to make crystal trees, but you can decorate them with moss, leaves, silk or fresh flowers, birds and such! it would be so adorable.
this site sells a bunch of branches and such, but you can always go into your own back yard or a friends and get branches 🙂
there is a video on youtube I think which shows different ways of setting the branches up in vases or pots

Thanks BeuatyinBloom! I had considered making a crystal manzanita tree, but thought it may be too glitzy for my woodland theme…your link had a tree with green, moss-like flowers hanging from it. That would be perfect! Thanks again.

Just for the look, I would check out the pottery barn “farm house” containers. It’s all galvanized steel containers the looks rustic. We are doing a mix of the galvanized milk containers, small buckets and mason jars for our centerpieces for a variety of looks and sizes – we are getting married on a mountain overlook with the reception in a converted log cabin that is now a restaurant.

what really stands out to me are those cute, sweet hand painted wooden signs! i think they are just so sweet! they cols be put on your car or reception site saying just married, or leading the guests to the venues, they could be used as table markers…there are so many things you could do. love the mason jars and tea lights, strung hanging lanterns.
good luck, im sure itll be lovely!

I was in Michaels the other day and they’ve got a bunch of bird stuff right now. Possible cake toppers, place card holders, etc. Might be worth checking out!

Another idea I had was to use sheet moss the decorate anything really, its a really clean moss, not as much sheading or dust. I am able to get it in my area as a 4″ wide, 15′ long roll for around $25, but i have not been able to find anything like it online to show, but there are alot of things about ‘moss cloths’ and such, which is similar. but this site sells something that may work

I’ll definitely check on the moss sheets. What do you all think about using terrariums as centerpieces rather than candles or flowers? Like this picture. I love it!

They have lots of moss, fresh and dried, but what im really loving right now is thier moss covered tree branches. I think they are just beautiful and im thinking of making my wedding arch using them. (Adding some flowers of course.)
They also have very lush green moss, and they can ship it fresh or dried.
I think there are some plant pots there too, made from old Knots from trees.
My wedding will also have a woodland feel to it, and we are using small jam jars in our centerpieces and actually sinking them into mounds of moss alternating candles and lilly of the vally…im hopping it looks like the lillies are growing from the moss. I love love love that terrerium idea. Dont forget ferns as decor too. There are some really pretty and delicate looking ferns you can use, and they really give a nice pop of green. Fiddlehead fern has a really interesting shape and it might look great in a bouquet.
Hope this was helpful
