My wedding was definately woodsy! We got married June 1st last year. The day before it was calling for rain, so we went out and bough rain umbrellas. All morning the day of the wedding it showered off and on. I actually pulled up to the ceremony with my parents and my husband and the groomsmen were quickly unloading chairs and trucking them into the woods for the ceremony- we were that close to having to have it inside! Anyways- I have some pics on an earlier thread you can check out, or feel free to message with questions.

Off the top of my head:

We used my grandfathers canoe for presents, renting plants from a local nursery, including large trees, to put inside the reception hall without having to buy them at full cost (made such a bigimpact; cheap cost); my husband built a homemade arbor for use to get married under; we had to rent a battery powered PA for the ceremony, our officient used it for a mike, and then a friend used to to plug in his acoustic guitar for music. We gave honey harvested from my parents bees for favours, made the centerpieces with wood logs and antique vases and flowers, etc etc.

LePetitJambon:  Thanks! I’ll tell him. It’s now hanging out at my parents farm in my mom’s garden until we have space for it ourselves.

Yeah, rain is the one biggie. We were lucky that the area was sheltered, so we risked it- even a downpour and people would have had a good tree canopy for coverage.

My biggest suggestion would be to have a solid back up plan…we had an idea…but day of, I realized it didn’t really work that well, so we’re lucky it worked.
