How exciting! I am in your shoes too. I recently put on a pair of slacks that used to be skin tight and now they're practically falling off of me! On another note, I went to my first dress fitting today and she has to take in my dress 4 whole inches! Wow! I'm pumped! I'm not too thrilled about the additional cost, but oh well!
I'm really just watching what I eat. I'm not counting calories or anything, but just trying to eat more natural things like vegetables, oatmeal and fish. It's really helped ALOT!
I love wearing my skinny jeans! I tried the South Beach diet but I felt really awful on it! I am now one pound below my goal weight and I did it with the help of sparkpeople.com which is a free web site. No special diet - I just try to stay in my calorie range (1520 to 1870) that they calculated for me and I exercise every day for at least 30 minutes. I only lost a pound or two a week but at my age that is the way I have to do it or I will get too much loose/saggy skin. I now have a BMI of 22.1 and I am pretty happy with that! This is a pic of the first pair of skinny jeans I bought. That was 10 lbs. ago! I have since purchased a pair another size smaller! Feels great doesn't it? Congrats!
@april30: That is awesome! I really love hearing about people losing weight because so many times I've tried and totally stopped out of nowhere but I feel good about this since I'm really motivated for my wedding day. I want to look and feel my best so there is no way I will give that up by eating bad foods and slacking by not working out!
@bluespurrs:Well you look fabulous!! Congrats to you too! I've heard so much about sparkpeople.com helping people to lose weight. I may try it after the wedding since I don't think I could be on the the south beach diet without a huge event in front of me that I need to look good for (unless its phase 3) but I certainly do like eating a lot of cheese, meat and veggies together where most diets didn't really allow that as much.
With the amount of veggies I'm eating it reminds me of nutrisystem minus the NASTY cardboard tasting food that they give you.
The thing is, you really can't just cut out everything yummy. If you do, you'll stick to it for about 2 weeks and then give up. So I left myself have one big cheat meal each week and one mild meal. For example, Friday I had the spicy chikcen sandiwch from Chick-fil-a (YUM) and then I also had bean and cheese nachos on Sunday. And I still lost a little last week. I have cut everything bad out in the past and then I would crash and just stop all together. But I feel good about what I eat now!!!
Congrats, it's so fun to lose weight!!! =)

I've already posted a thread asking what everyone is doing to lose weight for their wedding--but I did mention I am on phase one of the south beach diet...
AND after a week and a half, my regular jeans are falling off. I had to put my "thin" jeans on today and although they are still a bit snug, they are fitting so much better than my normal ones! So I am super happy that within this short time I'm losing so much in inches and in weight.
If anyone is trying to lose weight, I really want to hear your stories or if you have lost weight in the past :)
For me, this is a huge deal because I have not been able to lose weight since having my little guy 2 years ago.
