so I FINALLY figured out how / when to buy my wedding band! we will still need to buy his before the wedding...

but long story short - due to the advice of our financial advisor that we just signed up with - I am stopping buying gov't "I-Bonds" through work and isntead getting involved in the Employee Stock Purchase Plan...

So the bonds I DO have - the ones that are over a year old - I can take in and cash in tomorrow (a total of $650 with interest...) and we're going to Jared!!!!

I can't wait and am SO excited! thing that sucks, obviously, is that I can't actually WEAR it til after the wedding - even though we are legally married but...no one knows - and I can't raise suspicion. oh well - at least I'll have it! and I technically don't have to pay out of pocket for that expense right now! :D

I've looked online and the ring I want is actually $699 so I will have to pay like $50 for it...unless of course they have something better and cheaper in store! lol

So really curious - how much did you all pay for yours, may I ask?...I'm getting what is called an "enhancer" band that sort of "hugs" my E-ring and they start at $699 and go up to just under $1000...

is it honestly your E-ring that cost more or your band?

I was shocked at the price of my band!!!  And not in a good way.  I have a custom ring, and felt like the jeweler was very smart for having all his custom erings (aka: I have no other band options!)  My band was $1,200.  But what did we pay for it?  $600.  WHY?  Cause we got our bands on Vday! The sales were SICK.

Just goes to show you how over priced the industry can be.

e-ring def costs a lot more than my bands...i think that it tends to be the norm though some people choose a small ring for engagement due to circumstance and upgrade come wedding time.

Check with jewelers on Etsy--they may be able to reproduce what you have in mind for a lower price. I got my custom e-ring for around $500, if I remember correctly, and it has one sapphire and two colored diamonds. Granted the stones are all small, because I don't like big stones (they just don't feel good on my hand), but still--custom design, recycled gold, all for a great price. I'm sure you could find a deal on a band, too!

Since we knew what we wanted (and thankfully had work bonuses) we purchased our bands during the Valentine's Day sale.  It was a nice saying, now I just have to put them somewhere where I won't be tempted to wear it ;)

We haven't purchased my band yet, but I have a feeling it'll be much cheaper than my e-ring.

How exciting that you're finally purchasing yours!

i purchased my band and it was twice what my engagement ring was. my engagement ring is a white sapphire, my wedding band has ~1/3 ct diamonds it was $1400 (it was custom because i wanted palladium white gold). i wanted a wedding band that i would have forever. i have no regrets spending what i did on my wedding band. i looked everywhere and it was honestly the only one that stuck out at me and it matches my e-ring perfectly. i can't wait to get it in (sometime next week!!). :-) his wedding band was half the cost of my engagement ring. we had the same woman who made my engagement ring make his wedding band, because he tried on at least 30 styles and hated them all. he only liked her hammered band styles.
