Good for you!! I think that your goal is DEFINITELY attainable!! I also think that joining WW was a great idea because things like that keep you organized, on the ball and less likely to “cheat.”

Something that I do is I put a pretty pink X on the calendar every day that I work out. That way I can really tell when I’ve been slacking off.

Last January I decided to take control of my life and lose weight. I am 5’5″ and last January I weighed 186. This morning I weighed 140. I’m soooo much happier with the way I look and my activity level. FSIL and I ran a 5k last Thanksgiving and I just signed up for another one that is 3 weeks before my wedding that I’m going to do with 4 out of 6 of my bridesmaids! My goal weight is 130 and I’m going to be there by the wedding!

I’m attaching before and after pictures. The first one was taken at my heaviest. The second is from last February while shopping for my younger sister’s wedding. The third was last April at my older sister’s wedding and the last was taken last Sunday in my wedding dress.

Good luck!!

I totally understand! I used to fluctuate A LOT and I’m really hoping that I’m able to keep it off this time and that I stay motivated!

There are multiple people in my family with thyroid issues and you should definitely have that checked because it can be pretty serious! That could definitely have an effect on your weight.

I’ve found that diet is soooooooo important and the hardest part IMO. It’s good that you and your FI are doing it together so you can keep each other accountable diet-wise. I have problems with it because my FI is accustomed to eating very differently than I’ve been cooking lately lol. He’s getting used to it though!

Yay! I just started Weight Watchers online this week. I’m also wanting to lose about 30 lbs. I downloaded the Weight Watchers mobile app for my phone and that seems to be helping me track things really easily. I highly recommend it.

I definitely need to be working out more, as well. FI and I just ordered an elliptical machine, and I can’t wait for it to arrive.

Good luck!!

@DesireeAnne: Longer than it needed to!! I half-heartedly started last January, at my sister’s wedding in April I was 168. Then I kind of stalled for a while until August. From August to November I really focused on it and got down to 144. Then I stalled over the holidays and started up again last Monday.

Realistically if I had been more focused the whole time I think it would have been possible for me to do in 6-9 months.

@DesireeAnne: Oh definitely measure!! I didn’t and I really wish that I had so I could have some comparison! I can tell the difference and measure through clothing sizes but I’d love to have measurements to compare.

Wow.  You. Look.  Amazing.  I had to scroll up through the pictures to make sure I was looking at the same person.  Totally inspiring and congratulations!

@Running Elley: you look amazing. def motivated me again. i stopped running as much after a ten mile run that left my knee in not so good shape. but i have started running again and want to get back into the shape i was in. i had lost close to twenty pounds and was comfortable running long distances. now i need to get back to that. thank you for your inspiring pictures and story. six months and counting and ten to fifteen pounds to go. Smile

@futuremrskelsey:Thanks!! It’s hard to see a dramatic difference day-to-day but when I look back on pictures you really can see it. It motivates me too!

@soontobemrscyrus:You can do it!! I really love running now and I recommend it to everyone! Not even just to lose weight but it really just helps you feel healthier. I also really use it for stress relief, it helps me relax.

Congrats to everyone on the weight loss and Good Luck to everyone else.

I wanted to share my success story.  Some of you may consider it cheating though.  Although, i will tell you it has defintely not been an easy road.  I had lap band surgery in Feb of 09.  As of this morning, 2 years later, I’ve lost 150 pounds.

This picture was from the summer.  I have lost another 10 pounds since this pic.  I’ll be taking some more pics next week on my 2 year anniversary of my weight loss.

I was ~300 pounds on the pic to the left and about 160 on the pic at the right.  I’ve lost about another 10 pounds since then.
