I’m currently dealing with change of the seasons allergies, not much that can be done about it.
I just had to blow my nose, I make an effort not to be the person sniffling all day because it annoys the crap out of me when other people do it. I have kleenex at my desk so I didn’t get up and go to the bathroom. My holier-than-thou boss (who DOES sniffle at his desk all day and from my previous posts you can see annoys the crap out of me most days) just made a comment about how it’s gross that there are tissues in my garbage can.
In our office we take turns emptying the garbage, everyone has a week. I never touch other peoples trash, i just empty it in to the bag (pretty easy to do). He also then gave me a lecture on not separating my garbage and recycling (Even if I did – it all ends up in the dumpster, we don’t have separate bins so there’s no point)
What do you think bees, should I go to the bathroom every time i have to blow my nose? Should I get a second garbage bin just for my dirty kleenex (no one else does…) or is my boss just being an idiot?

continue blowing your nose at your desk and throw the tissues in the trash.
if a coworker does have a problem empting your trash during your allergy season, offer to dump your trash in the bin that week.
also, have you tried allegra or other allergy medicine. i get spring allergies and if i take an allegra every day, it does wonders.

ajillity81: I find allergy pills just leave me in a fog, I’ve tried several different kinds and I have a really hard time working when I’ve taken them so I reserve them for when things are really bad. Right now they’re just a minor annoyance. There are other people here who are WAY worse than I am right now – I’m just the only one he can see/would dare say anything to.

Your boss is an idiot. I always wash my hands well after emptying the garbages at home. It’s garbage – you sorta expect there to be something with germs on it.
There is no way I could go to the bathroom every time I needed to blow my nose. I wouldn’t get the necessities done, let alone work!
