Im sorry this happened to you. But i think you should really consider not going on vacation considering your going on a honeymoon a month later.. especially if finances are really that tight

@leahlou:  This totally sucks. I feel for you. I seem to have this kind of luck, too, and it always seems that when it rains it pours.

It sounds like you have a bit of a plan, though, so hopefully things will all work out for the best in the end. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you!

@leahlou:  It looks like you’re in Richmond, VA? This is where FI and I currently live and work.

You should try a temp agency. My FI did that we he was let go from a job a year ago. He ended up getting a full time job out of it but it was such a stress reliever in the meantime.

Check out strategic staffing solutions.

I’m sorry you’re going through all this, best of luck.

@leahlou: How frustrating! Talk about bad timing! But hey, maybe you’ll find a new, better paying job quickly? Or build a great business of your own?

As for the money, do you get severance pay? That should cover at least some of the legal fees. Also, ask your lawyer whether they would be prepared to work out a delayed payment plan. Contrary to popular belief, we’re not all money-crazy monsters 😉

@leahlou:  Oh I’m so sorry, your lawyer sounds like some of the guys I know and despise. I wish I could help you – but I’m in the wrong country, for starters.

Hang in there, things will change for the better soon. And if this guy is not the only decent adoption lawyer in your area, do take a look around if you can find someone a little more humane!
