I feel ya, girl. Wish I had some great advice, but alas, there are certain aspects of my job that are eating away my brain, but some parts I still love..plus, add the crazy dark rainy weather today here - but I will try to garner a laugh...
i'm in the same boat. except rather than being bored out of my mind, i'm overworked and under paid. especially with the wedding coming up, i'm just *So*Tired.* allthetime. and no one ever gets promotions here.
I'm staying through my honeymoon (yeay paid time off) and then we'll see where life takes me... possibly away from this company... ;)
try and focus on other things. cook, crafts, blogging, something. it makes the days go by easier.
I'm so sorry. Hopefully you can find another job soon!
I am busy, but bored. you know what i mean? it's not like I don't have things to do. I just can't believe that the things I do aren't automated, haha. I started as a graphic designer for a project, and now the project's done and i'm doing operations. BORING to me, and the team is totally stagnant. There is no one here i can learn from, which is so depressing. this isn't the place for ideas, it's just too backed up. Know what i mean? I'd like to see a set of consultants like in Office Space interview everyone and tear this place apart. "What exactly.... do ya do here?"
ETA: thank you for the kind words and animal pictures, by the way! Sorry for the huge vent.
I feel the same exact way. I have things to do but they are boring and not stimulating at all. I swear when I get to work my brain goes into "DuuuuuuH" mode.

While I'm happy to have a paycheck, that's about all I can say. My job is such a bad fit (it used to be relevant, but has morphed into something else completely) and it's so boring and mind-numbing, I feel myself turning into another person all together. At our last big meeting, it was stated that we all have to go above and beyond - that's what our job is all about. But there are people that have literally been working here, doing the same exact thing for more than 25 years. One person is being considered for a promotion (hasn't gotten it) and is on a "succession plan" to learn a new job. So is that what going above and beyond gets you? 25 years later, you get more work but no promotion? I'm looking for something else, but in the meantime I am stuck. Anyone else relate or can give me words of wisdom? Or something funny enough to make me smile today?
