You won’t make it through the whole nine months undetected, no matter how loose your fleece is. Could you just tell a few people and let the word spread on its own? I told my supervisor and one coworker and everyone else just found out.

I think you should just tell them. If they are panicking about what to do when you’re off, if you only give them 3 or 4 months notice they will panic more. They will support you no matter what, I’d just tell them! It’s not your job to worry about what they’ll do in my absence. I’m the only one that does my job but the guys I work with were ecstatic when I told them. Your co-workers will be thrilled for you no matter what! Oh and no matter when you tell them you’ll always get those annoying Questions!

lazybee123:  could you casually bring it up in a convo. It was super weird for me to tell people, I showed up at my work picnic obviously pregnant and nobody said a word to me. People don’t want to say anything in case you’re just putting on weight.  I said something to a co-worker along the lines of “you can’t fit a baby in my car” when we were talking about cars and she said something right away. I would just try to work it in and it will get around eventually.

Just tell them, before they guess, and before they hear it from someone else. I guarantee they won’t take it as badly as you think (I hope so anyway). As for their questions, deflect as much as possible!
