I totally get where you're coming from with this, but I have to admit - bank tellers make me nervous. I've assumed it was okay to walk up once the last customer has left and been told (several times) to get back in line, because they aren't finished yet.
I'm scared of getting scolded!!! :)
Agree with LaylaBelle. I get SO nervous walking up to bank tellers and I used to be one in high school!
Some of the banks here in New York have little lights that flash when they're ready.
haha! I don't think I have ever scolded anyone!!! :) that is funny though! LIGHTS?! thats awesome! I think I'll hang an open sign in front of me, but doubt that would work either!

I could vent about like a million work things, but this drives me crazy!!! I'm working as a bank teller while I go to school. I work in the main lobby at a walk up window. People always come in and stand there, look at me and go "are you open?" No. I'm not. My name is up in front just so you know it in case you were wondering, and I get paid to sit her and watch you. But I can't help you. People are so dumb sometimes!!!!
