That dress is killer. I agree with ejs - something with color!
We're on the same wavelength! I was thinking crimson or a deep red?
Anyone have inspiration pictures or items? I am seriously stuck! I'm more of a cardi girl in day-to-day life but this is so not a cardi dress.
Don't have any suggestions but I adore that dress! I'll let you know if I find anything!
No ideas beyond agreeing with the other girls (a "pop" color!) but I love the shoes and the dress :) :)
Ooooh I like this thread! I agree I want to look AMA-ZING! lol I have a feeling its going to be on Valentines day so I'm trying to find a really sexy but classy dress, and red of course :)
@HoneyBear - you MUST sign up for Rent the Runway. They have some gorgeous red dresses that I really wanted to be able to pull off for Christmas, but we do a casual family thing, so they would have looked really out of place. It's free to sign up, but there is a wait list. It only took me about three days before they let me on.
@KMSull - they're Badgely Mischka. :) I adore them, and am hoping they'll pop up on Ebay. Otherwise they have them at Nordstrom and on endless.com.
I'd love it if you all would keep your eyes out for me and post anything you might find!
I was thinking something like this, but this just doesn't strike me as elegant enough:

why am I looking at this instead of studying for the two Psych finals I have tomorrow? Ugh, I'm such a procrastinator!
Okay, I'm ridiculously stalking my own post right now, but I found this on Etsy, and convo-d the seller... I'm hoping she might be able to make it in a deep red. What do you all think?

Update on this: R told me today that he knows how he's going to propose officially, and that he will give me a three week warning so I can dress nicely and have my nails all done. EEEEE!!!
I really like that pinky sheer thing. That would be great in a deep red. And that is so awesome that you FI is going to give you a 3 week warning! Mine was nowhere near that nice!
What I don't get it? Isn't this going to totally ruin the surprise? To do the dresses on rent the runway you need like a few days notice. You are pretty much going to know exactly when he proposes then?
@amariem25 - I already picked out the ring, and know he's making payments on it. So there really isn't all that much surprise. We've pretty much made this a joint decision every step of the way, but he wanted to have the way he proposes and the actual night a surprise.

So I was talking to R today about how much it means to be that I look my best when I get the ring (if what he has in mind works with it!) and he kindly agreed to give me kind of a "heads up" three weeks beforehand so I could pick out a swanky outfit.
Naturally, I already have most of it picked out. ;)
So I am planning on Renting the Runway with this fab dress:
and then adding these to die for shoes:
which leaves me with a gaping hole where a beautiful wrap or bolero would go! Thoughts? Help me brainstorm, please!
