Morning ladies!  I haven't worked out in the past week because of having to travel and getting my Lasik done on Friday.  The doctor says I should avoid sweating too much for a few more days so I won't be able to work out until the end of the week.

I hope your weeks were better!

Hope your lasik went well! I definitely wouldn't be working out either if the doctors told me not to.. You don't want to do anything to jeopardize your sight!  :)

Did P90 Core today.. I felt so guilty for enjoying my weekend and eating/drinking whatever I wanted, so I made sure I worked hard.. Feeling a little better but need to keep it up the rest of the week,,

@MsPensFan: Good job!  I hope I can work out later this week, I'm really fighting this dry eye stuff right now which is making me nuts!

@MissAsB: Awesome that you're getting LASIK, I want to get it done so bad!

I have to do week 4, day 1 of C25K tonight, so nervous! I actually felt really good about last week though so hopefully it won't be too terrible.

Yesterday I did Week 1 Day 2 of the Hundred Pushup Program and 30 minutes of Pilates.  I had gotten "10 Minute Solutions, Pilates Perfect Body" and did 3 of the 5 segments.  I really like that DVD if anyone is looking for a Pilates DVD.  The different segments are arms, belly, buns & thigh, "perfect silhouette" aka all over workout lol, and stretch.  And the instructor is hardcore.  There were parts of the abs section where it was difficult for me to breath fluidly and she was just chatting away about building your "powerhouse".  Nuts...I want a core that is that strong!

I ran on Saturday and Sunday for 30 minutes each day.  Not the best workout ever, but I'm glad I did something.  I took Monday off, but this morning I rode my stationary bike for 15 minutes then did JM's 6 week 6 pack video, which is 35 minutes (and hard!).  I get out of class early today and don't have to work, so I'm going to plan to come home and run this afternoon.  I'm also going to try to get to kickboxing Wednesday and Thursday.

I was a little disappointed with the scale this morning because I didn't lose any weight and did so well staying on track with my diet and exercise plan, but my waist is already getting smaller.  I know the weight will come off eventually. I just have to stay on track and not get discouraged when the scale doesn't change immediately.

I'm jealous you got lasik MissAB!  I ran yesterday and will be meeting with my trainer tonight.  We just do 30 minutes of strength training together (which kicks my ASS nonetheless) so I'm going to try and get there a little early to get 20-30 minutes on the bike or elliptical in before we start.

Weighed myself this morning and gained .2 pounds which is good considering I'm PMSing big time and feel like a beached whale.  Was expecting much, much worse!

I did the elliptical for 35 minutes followed by an hour of hot yoga yesterday. I feel like the elliptical doesn't give me as good a workout as running, but I hurt my knee last week and I don't want to do any high-impact exercises until I'm feeling 100%. I guess that means no Zumba either. Boohiss.

I think i need a workout buddy of somesort that will motivate me. so if anyone lives in either ann arbor, ypsilanti, dexter, or chelsea, michigan PLEAS HELP ME... not really help me i just need someone to work out with so i know that im not the only one who hates working out this much

So I tackled week 4, day 1 of C25K last night, it was definitely a challenge. The beach was in terrible shape because of the holiday and the awesome weather this weekend, I actually rolled each of my ankles once stepping in holes/on trash that washed up. But I did it, even though I had to give myself about 30 extra seconds of walking recovery time between the 3rd and 4th runs. Hopefully Wednesday's run will go a little more smoothly. I mapped the run on a GPS app and found out that we actually went a little over two miles! That seemed pretty cool!

Does putting together an ikea pull out couch and desk and lugging the old over sized couch out to the curb to be picked up by the garbage men tomorrow count as exercise?  Because that's what I did this afternoon... And my "woman cave" (the basement) is looking damn good!

Hi everyone.. I was wondering if I can join this group? I am getting married in a little over 4 months and have just started to get into gear with both wedding planning and fitness. I am currently about 35 pounds overweight (will be normal BMI in 20 pounds but would like to lose an additional 15).

Right now I am doing the 30 day shred. Yesterday was my first day. It is really hard but definitely not impossible. I played sports through college and have always been athletic. It is only recently when I met my fiance and we found our common love of cooking and eating that I ballooned with my weight.

I am going to purchase my dress from David's Bridal on 1/30. I already know which one but wanted to sell my first dress that I bought online quickly after I got engaged before purchasing a second dress. Luckily it was sold the other night and I can buy my next dress without guilt! I am going to the fitting with my mom and my FMIL and I want to be well on my way to losing weight... hopefully down 10 pounds by then.

@mrshfmstr: No Motivation and you're wedding is 4 months away???!!! Come on girl, stop making excuses!!!! Plan it into you're day EVERY day. Make time for it. When you feel yourself not wanting to go, put the sneakers on really quick and at least do a little bit. You will start to feel better about yourself and then you'll want to go more :)

@mrshfmstr: The more often you get yourself to exercise the easier it gets.  It isn't fun adding something into your schedule, but once it's a habbit, it isn't as bad.  You just have to get yourself there!

Played volleyball again last night, and played with a different group (who were much more competitive/structured), and we only had 4 people on a team...I felt every muscle in my body being worked and feel them today!

Weighed in today, and haven't lost weight, but did lose and inch of my waist and 2 1/2 off my hips, so I'll take it! :)

I really wish I would have weighed myself and measured before I started P90.. Big mistake, but we don't have a scale in our house, so I forgot.. :(

I've been good this week though.. Worked out the last 3 days..  :)

Again, no exercise...but I got a brazilian, and that definitely raises my blood pressure, so does that count for cardio?  And I built a shelf (from Target not Ikea) then moved all my wedding supplies (minues glassware, that's still living in the spare bedroom - so more like all my crafting supplies) down into the basement and organized them in my new shelves.  That should definitely count as exercise! hahahaha...it's turning out to be one of those weeks...

Hahahaha @MandaMack no, getting a bikini wax does not count for cardio.

On another note, I tried on a pair of jeans I haven't worn in a few weeks today and they were totally loose, unfortunately I think I'm just losing what little butt I had to begin with, not any belly or muffin top. Why does it always work that way??

Hey guys! I just got home from a spin class and (warning TMI) I am sweating my face off!  I have been spinning once a week, and going to a barre class (combo of yoga, pilates, strength training and a little cardio - ah-MAZ-ing!) once a week, and trying to pop in another cardio day at the gym.  My goal is to add a minimum of two additional days at the gym instead of just one, but the spin and the barre classes kick my butt pretty hard!

@MandaMack: you are hilarious - I wish that counted!

Having a great week so far - ran Monday and Tuesday, and did 7 miles on the elliptical, or 55 minutes yesterday.  I am feeling it in my arms and legs today though!

DH hurt his back running on Tuesday, around his 4th mile.  We are seeing our sports medicine doctor here in an hour or so, hopefully it is something minor.  He is my gym partner!

We got 8 inches of snow last night, so I am dreading going out today.  Luckily our apartment complex has a gym!

Ugh, I've been sucking this week. I've only been once (Tuesday) and while I have my bag with me to go tonight I'm not sure if I'll be able to because my FH's step-dad is in the hospital and we may be going to visit.

I don't have anything planned for this weekend really, so I'm planning on going to the gym both days to make up for my bad week!

I've done pretty well this week! I ran last Saturday with my husband and my FIL when we were all down in Oregeon, about 5 miles; totally unexpected run and I worked them! I traveled to SF on Monday and got a 30 min slower paced run in with my friend who I stay with while I'm down here. I did a track workout with the golden gate running club on Wednesday- I kicked my own butt on that one! Tomorrow I'm planning on going to cross fit.... but it's at 6AM and my flight gets into Seattle at 11 tonight so it's going to take a lot of will power to make it happen... we'll see. I'm supposed to do a long run (8-12 miles) on Sunday..... but I'm not sure I want to do it.... I probably should just suck it up and do it and just not stay around for the day of football that is to follow. we'll see!

So, again, no exercise yesterday (bad bad week) but this morning I got to shovel 6 inches of snow off the whole driveway.  That is for sure exercise!  Half way through I'm ripping off my hat and scarf to prevent myself from starting to sweat before I get to work!

ok so since my last post i realized that i need to get back on the wagon bc ive always enjoyed working out and loved the benefits but it seems that since ive had my daughter who is now 19 months old i havent been that motivated since im a stay at home mom, ive worked out religiously since the summer its only recently that i have stopped it to a halt and cant seem to get it back. but after my earlier post i relaized how pitiful i sounded and id like to apologize :) and as of tuesday night I started the 10 pound slimdown on demand. and i love it except for the soreness of course. but i think this workout is great since all i want to lose is 10 pounds and about 1 to 2 pants sizes which seems pretty doable in 4 months. Right? im hoping so.... here's to working out :)

Ended up not working out last night.. Had to work late and then it took me 45 minutes to get home (when it should have taken 15.. stupid snow!).. So by then I was stressed and tired and hungry.. Planning on doing legs and back today tho..

I did get a compliment yesterday from someone I haven't seen in a couple months, that said I looked slimmer and more toned tho. So yay for that! :)

@MsPensFan: Hooray for compliments!! I hate how weather can get in the way of a workout!

@mrshfmstr: way to get started! Exercising and eating right is the way to get there! You can do it! Keep checking in with us to let us know how you're doing! :)

Soooo, my plane was on-time last night and I got home around 11:30, my husband was having a poker game and the boys didn't leave til a little after 12, which meant I wasn't asleep until 1; I was so tired this morning, BUT I went to my first full class of crossfit at 6AM! Everything hurts right now. As for the run on Sunday, we might do that or we might take the dog snowshoeing somewhere. that's still tbd. We'll get something in this weekend. I think I'm going to be way faster and stronger come May, and my husband is really happy that we're doing this all together, he wants to lose 15 pounds and keep it off.

Did week 4, day 3 of C25K today!! Actually felt good about it, I'm pretty proud and not as nervous about next week.

@MsPensFan: Your username reminded me - bf has been making me watch the Penguins-Capitals 24/7 documentary for the past few days - have you seen it? It's actually pretty entertaining (but dont tell him I said that).

I'd like to join this group!

I hadn't worked out 6 months and finally started back at the gym this past Wednesday. It feels SO great. My body is very sore, but it's so worth it. I cut out all soda and sweets, I've tried cutting back on sugar as well.

Something totally clicked for me this past week. I'm not sure what or why, but all of a sudden I was like, "I don't want to be like this anymore. It's not going to go away if I don't work at it. I want to look and feel healthy. It's time".

I'm definitely looking forward to keeping this going and sharing my progress.

I have had the worst week for exercise - I had a mole removed from my arm that required the use of internal stitches so I haven't been able to do anything high-impact or anything that would get it wet (like swimming). Combined with the fact that NZ is being lashed with La Nina-pattern summer storms and my incidental exercise is right down too! Would not be surprised if I have a gain this week given my lack of exercise. I feel a right fat oompa-loompa too!

@CaraMia10: COngrats on ur moment of clarity :) Very inspiring!!! You can do it. get some nutrition cookbooks so u dont fall back into mad eating habits!

@mrshfmstr: Yes!!! You got the motivation back!! What was it that clicked for you?? So awesome good job!

So saturday morning I did the half marathon here in Manhattan.. it was 13 degrees and felt like six. I woke up and almost didn't go but my fiance made me. (so glad he did) I got there and it was so cold- i almost quit after a half mile bc my toes felt frostbitted and i didnt know if they could warm up!!! After a mile they did, and I finished 4 minutes faster than my best half marathon time!!! I did it in 2:01:36, it was a 9:15 pace!! So happy!!! I'm doing another one in April, yay!!

@seattlemeg: are you training for a marathon??

@flyinpig3: AWESOME job! I would have been sad if you had opted out of it, I know you've been revving up for that race. I'm excited to see you continue training for your next one in April!

I'm currently training to PR in the half marathon in May in Vancouver. I'm going to attempt to do a marathon someday, MAYBE the Chicago marathon this year, but the amount of time spent training for it doesn't really entice me. I think right now I really want to run a fast half and then work myself up so that the first marathon I do I qualify for Boston. I know that sounds kind of crazy, but I'm ultra competitive with myself and want to push it to the limit.

I'm going to post about my failure of a weekend on the new post that MsAsB just put up here http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/workout-buddies-1242011, see you ladies on that post!
