    Good morning ladies!

My throat finally stopped feeling funky I think which is good.  I worked out yesterday and I want to work out at least one more time this week, maybe twice.  My husband is about to go out of town for three weeks so I really need to work to not be a lazy slob!

    How are you doing?

I started doing the Zumba for the Wii last week and did it for a couple of days and then it snowed and I didn't go to work 2 of those days and was a bit lazy, but I did shovel snow to make up for it.  Our weekend was really busy so I didn't do anything, but I got up this morning and Zumba'd for 20 minutes and feel so much better for doing it!! Gonna try to do it at least 3 times this week!

I swam 2700 yards yesterday and ran 3 miles on Sat. which was great because it was the first time I did 3 miles straight. I was doing 2 or 2.5. My sister and I are training for a 10k. So I switch days with running then swimming. So it's been a full 3 weeks of working out 5 days or so. I see a change in my body by muscle but not really by weight. I still have to work on the eating part.

@stormy9973: How are you liking Zumba?  Everyone talks about it.

    @MacFaniam24: Wow that's great!

I did awesome last week! I ended up doing 33 miles running. No weights though which is bad bad bad. I need to do at least one session this week--that's my goal!

Also learned a new stretch for my tight hip flexors so I need to make sure I do that after every run too. :)

I'm headed to Hot Yoga after work today... I missed this weekend, because FI conviced me to stay home and catch up on TV with him instead (Didn't take too much convincing...)

I'm hoping to make it to three 1-hour classes this week, and one 90-minute class this weekend.  FI and I are going to a special candlelit class for Valentine's Day on Sunday, too!

I did all 5 segments of my "10 Minute Solutions - Get Fit Mix" (with Amy Bento, who I really like) yesterday and felt great.  I've kind of sucked at working out the past few weeks; I haven't even been able to get past week 1 of the Hundred Push Up Program since I haven't been able to get myself to do all 3 days of it in one week yet!  Ever since I hit my goal weight it has just been so hard to stay motivated, but I officially re-dedicated myself to my fitness routine yesterday!

For the next 6 weeks (which is how long the push up program is) I'm going to try, try, try to workout at least 4 times a week.  I took new "before" pictures yesterday since now I'm focusing on toning, not losing weight, and I hope that motivates me to follow through on my plans.  Hopefully in Mid-March I will have some awesome "after" pictures to share and I'll be able to do 100 real push ups (and thus be ripped, lol)!  Wish me luck!

i did okish last week, worked out in the gym for an hour every week day and swam 3times ...i pigged out majorly this weekend and now i feel like a baby whale:( so back to the drawing board again tonight, boo!!

    just a question

is 10mins elliptical, 10mins on the stationary bike and 10mins walk/jog on the threadmill enough every night? i do a few weights + stretching most nights too

im burnt out after that much but i feel like im still not doing enough to make any real difference:(

@MissAsB: I'm actually liking Zumba.  I love to dance and the time just flies by!  I still haven't mastered all the steps, but I am getting better.  Definately is a workout!!

@Taylor4: and @MissAsB: I'm in the same boat, my hip flexors are terribly tight- Taylor, do you have an explanation of the stretch? I really need to work on getting more flexible because I'm doing squats incorrectly partially because my hips are so tight, my coach seems kind of concerned.

The rest of last week was good. I didn't do anything on Wednesday (thought about doing the Nike App- but ended up watching tv)

The Thursday trackout went really well and it was cold and windy! Friday was another running and pull-up workout at crossfit, did the pull-ups with only two bands (instead of 3 like the previous workout) and it went really well overall. Took a break on Saturday, and Sunday ran 8 miles with total time of 1:10. We didn't do anything football related which was good because we didn't snack too much, my husband is doing so well with losing weight!

Today was another crossfit day and I didn't finish last on a non-running day, which was pretty impressive for me. I've got a lot to improve on, but I'm so happy that I'm noticeably getting stronger.

I feel so bad! I completely forgot about this thread--I'm so busy!

However, since I didn't do anything (other than eating healthy-ish) this weekend because I was out of town at my brother's going away party, I got up this morning and went straight to the gym! I was able to do all my weights/strength workouts but got dizzy towards the end and was only able to run 3 laps. Maybe just having a granola bar before hitting the gym wasn't a good idea?

On Saturday, while I was at my parent's house, I tried on my wedding dress again for the first time since Thanksgiving. It's too big!! I've lost 2 inches on my chest and 4.5 inches overall...and 10 pounds! It felt so good :)

@seattlemeg: Yup! This is the stretch that I've been doing for the last few days and I've definitely noticed an improvement in the soreness on my right hip (for some reason I always get tight on my right side).

I also found this stretch which I'm going to try out once I get a foam roller! (Thinking of making that investment soon...)

@MandaMack: Good luck with your new goal!  I used to be able to do normal pushups but I'm a weakling now!

@misspandy: I think you need to do some more strength training.  You could also switch up your cardio by doing intervals of high intensity and lower intensity.

@seattlemeg: Great job with the running!

@Purquez2011: Oh I would have passed out if I didn't eat more than a granola bar before working out!  That's awesome that your dress is too big!

@Taylor4: I want a foam roller.  You can do some great stretches on your IT band with it too.  It feels so good!

@flyinpig3: no it isn't part of the wii fit, I think it is just called Zumba, it was by the EA active and such in the Wii aisle at Best Buy.  But I think you can get it pretty much anywhere wii games are sold.  Sometimes they are hard to find, I got the last one at an area Best Buy.

2 days in a row...woohoo!  That's better then I have been the past few weeks!

I didn't do anything crazy today, just 50 minutes of Pilates but it was good!  I'm definitely going to be feeling it in my abs tomorrow!

Yesterday was pretty laid back - we had people over for the Super Bowl and had a lot to cook, so we were pressed for time.  I did 4 miles on the elliptical.

Today I had a little more time, so I did 7.5 miles is 55 minutes on the elliptical.  I plan on doing a little yoga or pilates tonight, if I have time.  And energy, LOL.

Saturday - 40 minutes on the treadmill (with some walking/jogging breaks), 10 minutes on the step machine, then 20 more minutes doing arms and abs. Then sauna for 10 minutes to reward myself.

Sunday - 1 hour in "muscle conditioning"/"body pump" class - this was hard! Then an additional 20 minutes on the stairclimber. Then jacuzzi and sauna for 10 minutes to reward myself.

@Taylor4: My gym has a foam roller class and now I'm going to try it! Thanks!

Now off to the gym! I feel like doing the elliptical and abs tonight :)

@missAB im doing weights too, just i feel like if i did more cardio id drop weight quicker.

the gym was a giant FAIL lastnight, i spend mins on the bike, 10 on the elliptical and thats all i could manage, i had shooting pains up through my legs so i decided to just leave it at that and went for a swim instead, hopefully tonight will be an improvement:)

Back to the grind this week. I was exhausted yesterday from the late night super bowl party we went to Sunday, but still did P90 chest, shoulders, and arms with my FI after work. Planning on doing NMTZ today.

I seriously cannot wait until spring when I can run outside again.. I'm getting sick of having to limit myself to what I can do at home..

Ran three miles yesterday, going to the gym again later today. I also got a groupon for bikram yoga, so I signed up for 10 90 minute sessions of that coming up! I hope it is as good as everyone says it is, several Bees have written blog posts about it. I'll let you all know once that starts! Have a good week everyone!

3 days in a row...that's the best I've done in over a month, for sure!

I did Week 1 Day 2 of the Hundred Push Up Program and then all 5 segments of my "10 Minute Solutions - Knockout Body Blast."  It's kickboxing with weighted gloves, and I really like it!  Seriously, working out with weighted gloves makes you feel really bad ass!

I've decided I like the 10 Minute Solutions DVDs so much because having it broken up into 5 segments make the workout feel shorter.  I'm too ADD to do the "same" workout for 50 minutes, but I can do 5 10 minute workouts easy, lol!

I was surprisingly sore yesterday from P90, but still managed to fight through NMTZ, Felt sooo good to sweat it out.. I borrowed another work out dvd from the library to see if I like it before I buy it, and it's due back tomorrow.. So I'll probably be trying that tonight..

@Taylor4: Thanks for the stretch tip! The foam roller is definitely a life saver to get some soreness out. I should use mine more often.

I ran the regular tuesday run (about 6 miles) last night, but took it a bit easier than I have been over the last two times I've done it. My time was still pretty good though, so that's encouraging. Today is a rest day, tomorrow is an easy-peazie track workout and Friday is crossfit again! I have to fit in a 9 miler this weekend- eek!

Ok, so I just did "Personal Training With Jackie - Xtreme Timesaver Training" for the first time and I don't think I've ever sweat that much in 30 minutes in my life!  I think my shoulders are going to fall off.  There really wasn't any "cardio" just working multiple muscles at once (very Jillian-esque only harder) but I was breathing heavy basically as soon as we transitioned from the warmup to the real workout (and I'm not in bad shape)!!!

Definitely recommend this one to anyone looking for some hardcore fitness DVDs, especially if you find you're pressed for time (because its only 30minutes)

    Okay here's mine ...

    Monday: Ran/jogged 2.6 miles in 33 minutes

Tuesday: Ran 2.6 minutes in 27 minutes! Then did abs arms and core for an additional 30 minutes before hitting the sauna.

    Today I'll do bootcamp!

    @flyinpig3: You are totally amazing!!!

    Okay, bootcamp ... CHECK!

Seeing how hard everyone works is truly an inspiration to me.  When I run 2.5 miles I want a pat on the back, and then I read posts about running 4 miles AFTER P90X, running 33 miles/week, 5 miles/day, 8 miles on the elliptical ... it just inspires me to work harder.

You Bees are ridonculously awesome.  Let's keep this post going. I want to hear how everyone is doing.

I've been to the gym every day this week so far, so I'm pretty proud (Wednesday are usually an off night for me). My calf is still bothering me, so I haven't been running as much as I would like. Google is telling me that it's a posterior shin splint. I think I'm going to get fitted for a good pair of shoes this weekend before I tackle any more heavy duty running. Anyway, this week:

Monday: ran 3.5 miles, did chest/arms at the gym

Tuesday: discovered the Precor AMT machine at the gym, hopped/strode/ran on one for about 25 mins, followed by a quick 5 min run on the treadmill (that counts, right?).

Wedesday: ran 2 miles on the treadmill, and then did 25 minutes on the Precor AMT. At night, did Jillian Michaels' No More Trouble Zones.

I also walk to and from work every day w/ my dog. It's 35 minutes each way, so that's almost 6 hours of walking every week M-F. I usually do another 3 hours on the weekends w/ my husband and dog.

Save for my darn achey leg, I'm feeling pretty good!

I finally finished week 1 of the hundred pushup program!!! Woohoo!

Yeah, this is like my fourth week in a row starting it, but I finally did Week 1 Day 3 today!  And, I did "Personal Training With Jack: Crunch Free Xtreme Abs."  It was my firt time doing that DVD; it was a good 15 minute ab workout, but it was kinda boring.  Then again, when would doing 15 minutes of pure abs not be boring? haha

@misspandy: hey just getting those shoes on and getting out there is what matters, way to get the workout in, it gets easier as you do it more often!

@wavyhair: I am also coming down with shin splints- urgh! I had them often in high school and now that I'm running on a ton of concreate and often on the track they're back. I reccomend 1) good shoes 2) stretching your calves 3) doing strengthing exercises. 4) icing. Strengthing can be easy. What you can do is "write" the alphabet with your big toe as the "pencil" it vaires the movement of your lower leg and helps strengthen the area. THis video also has great suggestions- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=diDwjLN1UEU

One of the best methods of icing is freezing little paper cups of water and then unwrapping them and running them up and down your shin. they also make reusable ice cups- http://www.amazon.com/CryoCup-Set-of-Two/dp/B000CIAE2E/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1297386165&sr=8-1-fkmr0

@MandaMack: Way to go on the pushup program!!

I just got back from cross country skate skiing, we were out for about 2 hours, it's only my second time doing it and the conditions were pretty slick, so I now have a bunch of bruises but whew, it was a workout! I have a shorter trackworkout of 4x200m tonight so that will be over pretty quickly. 12 weeks to the Vancouver half marathon!

Tried a new workout on wednesday and wasn't a big of it. I did sweat like crazy! Then I did P90 cardio with the FI last night. This week kicked my butt but I feel great about it.. Hoping to control myself this weekend with the eating/drinking, but I do babysit my 3 year old nephew tomorrow, so that's a workout in itself!
