I just got back from a terrrible workout.

My tummy has been bugging me for a few days but I thought I felt good enough today to get back at it. I did about 20 mins on the treadmill and it really started bugging me again. I jumped off and decided I'd do my strength training workout.... All my machines had meathead occupents that literally didn't move off of them and there was no room in the free weights section for me. I sat and watched them for five minutes to see if anyone would move and nothing. I then got frustrated and left... le sigh!

    Tomorrow's a new day!

Last night I did Plyometrics for one hour, and tonight is Back and Biceps plus Ab Ripper! I start my 10 K training next week on top of my final two weeks of P90X - I am excited! Good work everyone!

@Emshaw - Ugh, I can't stand meatheads at the gym. One of the many reasons I hated going to a gym.

So, yesterday I was on my way to the gym and almost turned around because I forgot my hair tie, but then I though tto myself- really, am I going to skip a whole workout just because I don't have something to put my hair up with?? So then I got there and there was absolutely no where to park. My gym is so much more crowded at night- one more reason I need to get my butt out of bed in the morning. But, I eventually got a place to park and went in and id my workout! AND- I went today too!! Tomorrow I meet with my trainer so i definitely have to go then. Then that just leaves Friday, Sat, and Sun to keep it up. Those are the hardest days for me! But, I am really trying for that perfect week!! Let's see if I can do it!

@ Emshaw sorry your workout didn't go as planned, but 20 mins. is still pretty darn good!

I did a 2 mile run followed by interval pieces again to 4.5 miles (.25 off/.75 on/.25 off/.50 on/.25 off/.25on/.25 off) I didn't push my self as hard as I wanted to because I wasn't feeling well either...recovering from a stomach bug thing too (no fun) and it's hard to run without too much tummy fuel

I resisted a big box of donuts at work today that everyone was gobbling down! I'm so close to being in the 140's...I really want to make it this week! I also did my exercise video today even though I really didn't want to. Felt great after!

@Emshaw - I hate those people who refuse to move off the machines! So frustrating!

I have been thinking about you girls for the last two days! i have been wanting to come on and post but just haven't had time.

    Here are my stats:

    Start: 168

    Last Week: 160

    This week: 158.8

    Loss: 1.2 pounds

I just realized that I have lost 10 pounds from my start weight! Each week it doesn't feel like a big difference.  But when you add it all up 10 pounds IS a big difference.  Thanks girls because I know that you're motivation has helped me keep going.

I think being accountable on here has really helped!

The last time I weighed 158 was this last summer.  I was trying to diet then too but instead somehow gained 10 pounds over the summer and fall.

I can't believe how easy is to pack on pounds and so hard to take them off!

I am motivated to keep this up! I can actually feel a difference in my midsection.

Crebre you gave me the idea to measure myself with a tape! Bluebutterfly is right, inches are more important than weight!

Yay! Hey I am new to this but went searching on here for something like this! I NEED to stay motivated! I am soooo not happy with my weight right now! It like drepresses me, I just got out of the Military and I thought about how much i weighed right when I came in to what I weigh now. Ya NOT COOL! Oddly enough ya I gained a decent amount of weight while I was in, I stayed in shape enough for standards in the Mil but Still, I am a short girl so my weight REALLY shows I feel. So I am JUST starting to try to really get on this because I hate how I look and HATE how I feel. I want to hide EVERYTHING and dress so "frumpy" now! Ughhh! So, This is the first week I have started and have less than 5 mos to my wedding! Not just doing this for the wedding but for ME! Fingers crossed, I really wanna do this!

    Great work everyone!

@Traceylynne: I'm still laughing about your left leg...go left leg!  I wonder if one of my appendages is shrinking at a different rate than the rest. Hmmm??  This makes me want to track inches in addition to pounds.

Anyone else feeling extremely tired this week?  I'm managed to stay on track and hit the gym every night after work, but boy do I have to drag my behind in there!  I feel great once I'm done though.  I'm really looking forward to seeing the 160's again, I'm just 1.5 pounds away!!

Hey ladies... So last night I was supposed to go to spin class, but instead we went skating on the canal (longest skateway in the world btw!). It was an ok workout but obviously not as good as spinning, so that's where I'm headed tonight!

I still haven't weighed myself bc I am too scared...

@charm bracelet: Congrats on your 10lbs loss girl! That's huge!!

@bluebutterfly: Good job with the running even though you have the tummy bug too! It's hard to keep motivated when you feel like crap!

So I am THINKING the solution to my meathead problem might be joining a women's only gym. Right now I work out at the YMCA which is great because it's HUGE but as you know I've been having some issues with using the weights. My MOH goes to a great women's only gym so I think I might get a free week pass and try it out.

Congrats on everyone who has made progress, and for getting in workouts!!

@emshaw and everyone with the meathead problem--there is little that gets my feminist rantings going like the meathead problem!!! While I like that women's only gyms provide a safe place to encourage women to work out, I dislike that women don't feel like they belong in a "regular" gym (especially since I suspect that women's gyms aren't as well-equipped, but I could be wrong). I have felt very empowered by sticking it out in the free weight sections. I never liked machines much because they are (guess what) built for guys and I don't like how they force me to make uncomfortable movements.

If someone is using something I need and I can't hop on something else, I politely ask how many sets they have left so I can plan. If it is easy to switch weights (like on a cable machine) I say I'm only doing 2 or 3 sets and politely ask if I can work in. It doesn't solve all the problems when the gym is crowded, but it helps get through workouts most of the time. As for the meatheads (grrrr), first, half of them use terrible form. Most of them only do biceps and chest workouts, which is ridiculous. Half of them dilly dally, chit chat, or listen to music for minutes on end, hogging the equipment. I give a lot of dirty looks. I use my notebook and waterbottle to claim my space. If someone tries to take it, I blatantly pick up my water bottle and stare while I take a sip. I like to listen to things like the rocky soundtrack so that I feel really badass. :-)

Ladies, you belong. Kick the meatheads to the curb!!

@ Emshaw you might want to find out if there are any gyms in your area that have a women's  only lifting room....our gym offers this, and it provides a men free zone, but still allows for access to all of the other equipment.  I personally don't like the women's room as much because they don't have as much equipment available, but it's a good safe place for when you just can't get onto the machines in the rest of the gym....you know I wonder if it has to do with you going to the Y?  I know the Y is great, but I remember when I went there years ago it was always so crowed no matter when you went.

@ iggies: I don't know that its a whole pants size but I have noticed that they fit more loosely.  Also, I have moved up a notch on my belt.

Because I've been gaining weight, I have pants in my closet from a range of 8 to 14.  Now that you've mentioned this, I should go and try a one size down than what I have now.

@iggies: unfortunately i gained 2 lbs this week :( but I have decided to no longer weigh myself at weekly intervals, it's driving me crazy. I will continue to measure my progress which has definitely boosted my confidence.  if I can continue to loose inches I'll be a-okay (and jealous of those of you losing weight)

    @HB: congrats!!!

@v: i have a SERIOUS sweet tooth and don't deprive myself of anything but I eat it in moderation or make sure that it is included in my calorie count, if i want that praline, then i don't have x, y, z if that makes sense.

@crebre, @charmbracelet, @His Barista, @Rosie Girl - GREAT job ladies! Whether it's pounds or inches, it's all going in the right direction - DOWN!

Just finished my first workout with NROLFW + Ab Ripper X with P90X. The weights workout felt great (and so fast! It really didn't feel like an hour...), the Ab Ripper kick my @$$!! @Valhalla - I have even GREATER respect for all you do on P90X now that I've tried just that one!

All this talk of measurements got me excited to take mine for this week (trying to take them every two, just to gauge progress) - I'm down another 1/2 inch in my bust & another 1/2 in my hips!  Yay!  That's a total of 5 inches since the start!

Tomorrow's my first experience with kettlebell intervals - wish me luck!

Good morning!! I made it through a 60 min spin class last night! whoo! The ones I have been going to have only been 50 minutes. It's tough but such a good workout :)

Today I am hoping to run and do an ab workout!

    Happy Friday everyone!!

    Yay! Yay! Yay!

Crebre asked yesterday if I went down a pant size.  I had been to nervous to even check and see if I'd gone down becuase I didn't want to be disappointed.

But...I tried smaller jeans on this morning and they fit!!!! Yay! I also have a pair of work pants that are brand new and need to be altered but I never took them in because I couldn't even fit in them! But I tried them on too....and they fit! Wow.

It is so nice to be able to start fitting into my old clothes again! This is really motivating me to keep going.

Ms. Pascua congratulations on losing inches. 1/2 an inch is great but 5 inches total is very impressive! I think I'm going to have to try it and see how I'm doing.

I have my measurements from when I ordered my dress 3 months ago, and I have a goal in mind ....(whisper)I ordered my dress a size smaller than their recommendation. I am hopeful that I've lost inches too! I will keep you posted.

    Hey girls!!!

So I've had a slow workout week. After getting pissed off at my gym I haven't gone back, mainly due to laziness. I went and checked out the women's only gym my MOH uses and it's great. It has full free weights and the same weight machines as the Y and a ton of cardio equipment as well. I got a one week pass so I am going to try it out and see how I like it!

I haven't weighed myself at all this week but am feeling good!! My MOH gave me a pair of jeans yesterday (she's a size 28) and they actually fit me! They are a bit tight but totally do-able. That is really exciting because about six months ago I was a size 32.

@tracylynne: You're awesome!! I've asked a few times and got onto a few machines by talking with them but I hate doing it every time and every machine. There is also no room to do free weights and I always wind up somewhere in the middle of the walking path trying to do my free weights & ball work. The women's gym I'm trying out is extremely well equipped and has tons of weights which is fab. I think I'm going to give it a try for a few days and see how I feel. It's not that I don't feel comfortable lifting weights with the guys, I just hate having to delay my workouts because they like to act like idiots at the gym.

@bluebutterfly: It might be a Y thing!! It's a bit of a shady place and located in a sketch area. The reason I started at the Y is because my dad goes there so sometimes we meet up for workouts (very rarely).

@charmbracelet: WAY TO GO!! It's such a huge motivation when you can physically see that your work is paying off. Keep up the good work girl!

@rosie: Great job with the loss!

@Valhalla: Don't sweat the cupcake too much. I'm sure you more than worked it off doing the P90x workout :)

@crebre: Inches is the way to go I think! Weight fluctuates so much from day to day inches is really the best way to tell how your workout is going.

@ms.pascua: Sounds like you had an amazing workout! I am just starting the NROLFW too!!

Sorry this was such a long post, just wanted to congratulate everyone on amazing work!

So I have officially worked out every day this week!! go me! Now, I just need to make it through the weekend! That is always the hardest part. FOr everyone that is having the problem with the meat heads: I actually have the opposite problem at my gym! There are alwyas all kinds of girls ( who don't even have any weight to lose) standing around and talking to each other or to guys that they are tyring to pick up. It is so annoying especially when they are hogging a machine i want. And they always wear tons of makeup and huge jewelry and cutesy little outfits. It drives me crazy. Ok, needed to vent :)
