Hey everyone!  Rosie Girl asked me to take over for a while so here is the weekly post!  I have really been trying to go to the gym but I have a combination of not feeling well/no motivation so it is hard to get there daily.  I want to go 4x a week minimum but have only been making it to 2 so far.  Help motivate me girls!  My husband and I are going on a trip to the Gulf Coast in May and I want to look good!

    Here are the stats:

    Starting weight: 128

    Last week: 126

    Today: 126

    Lost/Gain: 0

It is hard for me to check on the computer right now but I will try to keep track of everyone as much as I can.

I feel ya MissAsB! I'm having a hard time getting motivation to exercise. Once I start, I'm fine..it's just getting to the starting point! This week I only worked out once and my goal was 4 times. Oy.

I had a rough time with food at the beginning of the week. We had 4 birthdays in my family/close friend circle this week so I made a lot of birthday cake and snacked too much at the beginning of the week. I straightened myself out by mid week and I managed to lose more weight than last week - go figure!

    Start: 156.6

    Last week: 148.6

    This week: 147.4

Loss this week 1.2 lbs, total 9.2lbs

Hi everyone! I have completed P90X and have now moved on to training for a 10K run! I still plan to do the P90X weight lifting dvds on the days I am not running, so I am keeping my overall training program at 6 days per week. Today I went for a run for 45 min. As part of the training, I did a 5 min warm up, then ran 3 min on, 1 min walk, 9 times. Ended with a 5 min cooldown.

I have been MIA for a little while because my life felt a little bit like "A Series of Unfortunate Events!" (Lemony Snicket anyone?). I threw out my back, which put me  out of the workout game for a few days, then I got very sick with a killer virus. But now I am back in the game for SURE!

Glad to know I'm not the only one, toothfairyb!  All the cake does not sound good but so yummy!

@Vahalla: I'm sorry to hear about your injuries!  I hope you feel better soon so you can train for that 10k!

@His Barista: It's okay, I'm off the bandwagon halfway too!  Hope you can get back in the swing of things!

I was okay with my workout routine this week.  I ran 3 times, but I didn't do the shred at all.  I know, shame on me.  I stuck to my diet until the weekend and kind of cheated a little.  I'm back on the wagon though!  I ran this morning and had a really healthy day.  Hoping to run 2 more times this week and do the shred 2 times.  Goal for next Monday = 150.

thanks for posting about this on the other thread, missasb! i think i'll check in here too!

    starting weight: 148.7

    last week: 144.3

    this week: 145.6

    loss: +1.3

kind of a bummer but i had been snacking hardcore all last week. i think cuz it was that time of month. i always get on a weird sugar craving wave that week. lol.

@valhalla, i've been doing p90x and while i love it, i decided i wanted to be outside so i slowed down on the cardio based ones. maybe i'll pick it up again during the winter months.

@tea - if you want to do a different cardio activity, than I am sure that is okay! My friend was doing training for a marathon while doing P90X, and she omitted the cardio days entirely in liu of running. I found the weight lifting days more of a big deal with P90X anyways - I didn't really like the Kenpo workout at all.

    Sigh.

    Starting weight: 151.6

    Last week: 148

    This week: 148.4

    Change: +.4

So, another no change week. Though based on how I look and feel--I'm definitely seeing progress!! I did measurements again this week and there are some small changes, but not a ton (weekly is probably a bit much for this anyway). I still went out to eat a bit too much, but DID eat without stuffing myself silly, which is a small achievement!

This week: workout at least 5 hours!

I am up a pound and out a right knee. Gotta love runner's knee. Hopefully I can manage it with ice - I was just starting to get into my workout groove too! Argh.

Hi guys, I'm going to join in on this cause I need to get motivated again.  I lost about 35 lbs last year eating healthy and working out like crazy.  I was consistent in this for about 15 months and then a few months ago I slowly started going less to the gym and eating crappy again.  Well I had an awakening last Friday when I stepped on the scale and had gained back almost 10 lbs.  I'm mad at myself because it's a waste of a lot of hard work, but it has definitely been an eye opener.  I have been eating healthy again for 4 whole days and I'm back at the gym.  I like to make mini goals and then reevaluate again once I reach that goal so I'm going for 30 lbs this round.

    Sooo...

    Starting: 207

Will update with you guys next week!

    Hi Ladies,

Bit of a late post, but here's my stats for this week:

    Starting: 142

    Last Week: 135

    This Week: 136

    Loss/Total Loss: +1/-6

I'm actually not unhappy about this...I weighed myself last week Wed & was at 136.5, so now I'm back down -0.5, yay!  My weight has plateaued...my eating & working out habits haven't changed (cut carbs to one serving a day, working out 4 times a week) & it seems too early for it to be muscle gain just yet.  As "that time of the month" is approaching (should come tomorrow), I'm chalking up the weight gain to bloating, etc.  On the up-side of things, I'm DEFINITELY seeing a change in my definition & I've lost another 2 inches (0.5 in the waist, 0.75 on each thigh)! Yay for alternate bars of measurement!

Yesterday, I went in for my complimentary 30 minute Pilates intro - totally upgraded to the hour session just to understand the concepts.  I learned so much about how to engage one's core during exercises.  But I didn't "sweat" that much, so I added a Kettlebell workout, too.  Good way to start the week!

Congrats to all who lost (esp. lopeze: 3 pounds! AWESOME!).

As for keeping motivated, what works for me is making a plan for workouts & telling it to a friend or FI who checks with me to see how those workouts went.  Since I have to "answer" to them about it, I feel motivated to make sure I "show up". Another bee & I started PMing each other with daily check-ins, too...helps to be held accountable.

Sorry for the late post; as of last Friday, I finally hit the 10 pound mark!!  It felt fantastic!!  I was out of town this past weekend and didn't have gym access and although I tried to eat healthy foods, the selection was pretty poor.  I'm hoping that I can still manage to lose weight this week after taking 3 days off and eating way too many carbs this weekend.  I hit the gym both Monday and Tuesday and it felt great!

    Starting Weight: 176.5

    Last Week: 168

    This Week: 166.5

    Loss this Week: -1.5

    Total loss: 10 lbs!!

    Hey girls!

It was an insane couple of weeks for me. We went to visit my sister and her new baby (2 hours plane ride away) and then over the weekend we moved into our very first house (yay!) and got a puppy. Maybe bit off more than we could chew but oh well! Anyways, because of this working out has totally taken the back burner.

I have been watching what i've been eating though, so I still have good results!

    Start: 177.0 lbs

Last week (first week back): 177.0 lbs

    This week: 174.8

@wagswifetobe: Congratulations!!  Ten pounds loss is something to REALLY celebrate. Way to tell those pounds who's boss, sister!

@ottawabride: wow, you've had a red-letter MONTH!  Congrats on being an aunt...do you have a niece or a nephew? AND you lost weight, too!  If you don't mind sharing, what was your food plan while you were away from the gym? My weight has plateaued & I'd love any tips on how to jump-start more weight loss...

Looks like everyone is doing well so far!  I finally got over my 2 day hump and I went to the gym today!  I was only able to work out for 30 minutes though because I was starting to get really hungry but it's better than nothing.  Plus I increased the resistance on the elliptical and didn't even feel a difference.

So, this morning I had my bodyfat tested by a trainer at my gym--the real way with calipers. And it was a whopping 5-6% LESS than what my stupid digital scale tells me!!! That means that there is about 7.5 lbs that I thought was fat that is really muscle, et al. It means despite being heavy for my size (BMI = overweight), I really DO have a lot of muscle and am actually in the "fit" range. Wahoo!!

Bottom line-I really encourage everyone to go and do this!!! I felt SO good afterwards, and was able to give myself a pat on the back after feeling bad about so little progress despite making so many changes (see above, started at 151.6, was at 148.6 earlier this week, though I was at 146.2 this morning).

THe trainer said that because I'm doing weights, it would take 4-6 weeks before I really started to notice a big difference outwardly. That is right about how long I've trying. So far, I've just been replacing the fat with muscle and I can't see that as much on the outside. So, for Ms. Pascua and anyone else lifting weights--stick with it and get past the hump!!!

So far I've been on track with my workout this week.  Only have to run one more day and do the shred one more time.  My next run on the C25K is 25 minutes!! The 20 minute run was last week, and I'll admit, I could NOT get through it.  I made it to 12 minutes and had to walk for a few minutes before I could finish.  Today I did the 10 minute run, 3 minute walk, and 10 minute run.  I may just do that a few more times before I try the 25 minute run.

My real problem is with my diet.  I was doing so good until today, I had a grande skinny vanilla latte (only 130 calories, so not horrible), but then I had fajitas for lunch (I didn't eat any of the chips or rice), and I had grilled chicken and steamed green beans for dinner, and wheat thins and alouette cheese spread for a snack (I should have had carrots and hummus!!).  And it's my first night of spring break, and the boy wants to drink and bought me a bottle of red wine, so I know I'm going to have a few glasses of that!  I just have no will power when it comes to my diet!!  I weighed 150.9 lbs this morning, and I really want to be 150 by Monday!!

    Hey girls!!

I've had no loss again this week!! Boourns...

I've signed up for 12 training sessions at my gym which I will be doing over the next 8 weeks. I'm hoping to start kicking ass and taking names. I'm excited to get back into hardcore workouts and losing the pounds.

On the plus side, I haven't gained. I'm still hovering around 156 (about 12lbs down from where I started, boo ya!)

I joined WeightWatchers in January 2009, immediately after getting engaged. I lost 27 pounds in 2009 with it, but in the winter gained back a few pounds. Thanks to the Beck Diet Solution I finally got over a 4 month plateau and lost 2.5 lbs last week. For the past 2 weeks, I've been doing the Beach Body Insanity workouts 4-5 days a week and lifting 1-2 days a week. (Previous to that I generally worked out 5 days a week, but not nearly as intensely.)

I think the biggest change I've made recently that's helped is getting up and working out first thing in the morning. After a long day of teaching, it's easy to run out of energy for myself, so it's been feeling good to get up and give myself my best energy first thing and run out of energy for other people later in the day ;)

It's also super motivating to see this great group of women working together to make progress on their goals!

    Starting: 167.6

@toothfairyb- I really like it. Last year I worked out with a really good trainer and I feel like BeachBody Insanity is as good as my workouts with him. It's really intense, lots of intervals. I'm in good shape but the first few times I did the workouts, I would have to pause the computer to catch my breath. My heartrate was as high as it gets from the hardest part of a spinning class, and it is all from body weight resistance and jumping around and stuff!

It's easy to do at home. No equipment is needed. The plan is easy to follow. The workouts are very intense, fast paced, and vary every week so I don't get bored.

I don't drink the shakes they try to sell and I didn't actually pay for the dvds. I also don't workout 6 days a week with them, only 4-5 so that I can lift with my FI the other days. (I've attached the workout schedule.)

For pre-wedding workout I think this is great, but I think it might get boring to repeat the 60 days of workouts again and again long term. Over the past 2 years I've really realized how important it is for me to mix up my workouts every few months, and for that purpose these are a great challenge for a few months.

Also, after only two weeks, my inner and outer thighs, butt, and upper arms are all noticably more defined. And I can't wait to take the Beach Body Insanity 15 day fit test to see how I've progressed in the past two weeks.

In sum, I'd highly recommend it--especially if you can find it for free or share the cost with a friend.

@traceylynne: Yay! for weight loss using weights!  Great motivation story...

So I started the week out strong (did my Mon & Tues workouts) but I didn't make it to the gym last night - just way too tired, physically.  So headed there tonight to do either weights (if I have an hour to kill) or intervals (if I only have 30 minutes).  Been REALLY good with food - sticking to the one serving of carbs a day...but may have cheated a little with pasta on Wed & Thurs night ... how do you tell how much is one serving of pasta?  Had the pasta with a homemade turkey bolognese sauce (no cream!), so I don't think the meal was too bad, just don't know if I ate too much carb in my serving.

Excited to go BM dress shopping with my girls tonight!  I love trying on clothes right now, I just love seeing if I can squeeze into a smaller size or even fit my size better.

    Finish the week strong, ladies!

Ugh. I've been failing so much with my diet!  I'm keeping up with working out though.  My bf basically lost his job today, so we went to Outback to cheer him up.  Of course he got the blooming onion, which I had a quarter of!! It's sooo yummy, but probably the worst thing I could have eaten. Then instead of getting the salmon, which is what I planned, I changed my mind at the last minute and got the 7 oz. filet.  I only had veggies for the sides, but I should have gotten the salmon!  Sigh.  I have absolutely no will power when it comes to food.  I guess tomorrow I'll be running AND shredding to burn off these extra calories!

@MissAsB - I hope you got to work out! I did on Thursday and today and I felt so much better. It's always starting that's my hurdle!

@Vonnegirl - I did my first fit test for Insanity today. My heart rate got pretty high so I can definitely see it being a good workout. I get bored easily so I have to mix it up, but I'm going to try to stay with it for at least 2 weeks so I can do another fit test! Thanks for the review of it! :)

I just started using the EA Active for the Wii and it has made a HUGE difference in my enthusiam and effort.  I'm doing their 30 day challenge and it is such a relief to not have to think about what to do, just follow along.  It's not an easy work out and though I haven't lost any notable weight, after a week my pants are already fitting looser and my energy is way up.  That combined with weight watchers seems to be working.

And unlike the regular Wii fit, the Active has a thigh strap that actually can tell when I'm running rather than judging it off how much the Wiimote shakes! Plus the active never tells me that I'm "unbalanced"  :-)

@toothfairyb: I didn't do anything last night.  Was way too tired!

@toothfairyb-- Nice job getting the fit test done! I did my 15 day check in today (though it took me 3 weeks to hit 15 days of Insanity workouts) and was shocked to see an improvement in each category. But wow do I hate the powerjumps! Anyway, after seeing the results I'm reenergized to continue. Have fun!

@Vonnegurl - I did the plyo cardio workout today and wanted to die! That laying down and getting up thing makes me want to vomit! Hopefully I'll improve quickly! Congrats on the improvements with your fit test! It's so nice to see tangible results like that!
