    Loss: -1.6

    Total loss: -8 lb!

I did okay with Ms. Pascua's plan.  I worked out 5 days last week and stuck to my diet about 90%.  I would have worked out more/harder, but I'm getting a cold. :(  At first I thought it was just my allergies, but it's getting worse.  I didn't workout this morning because I'm so congested, but I'll attempt to tomorrow.  I realllly want to reach the 10 lbs mark next week!

This past week I just felt kind of blah. It was all sorts of annoying. I did work out at least 4 times like I agreed to (5 times to be exact). I stuck with my eating plan really well until yesterday, but it was unavoidable and completely worth it. My grandma makes the BEST fried chicken in the entire world. I have yet to find any that is better. I have friends that agree. If she could have made fried chicken for the 200+ people at my wedding that is what I would have had, but that wasn't possible. I had lost at least 2 pounds, but at least I still lost 1.

    Starting Weight - 262
    Wedding Day - 220
    Last Week - 222.4
    Today - 221.2

Total Lose/Gain for the week: -1.2

I turn 30 this Saturday. This week I promise to...

    • exercise at least 4 times.
    • drink at least 64 ounces of water a day.
    • eat on plan whenever possible (remembering that just because I go off plan for one meal does not mean that I should take the whole day off plan).
    • do whatever I want for my birthday because you only turn 30 once!!!!!!!
    • chose a diet adult beverage instead of a high calorie one.
    • realize that I celebrate the birthday week [every year] and that next week's weigh-in may suck (and not be too hard on myself for it). Laughing

@completelyrandomsally: Those are good goals!  I agree with not going off plan all day just because of one bad meal.  Sometimes you feel like it is completely blown after one meal and just want to eat whatever!

    @MissAsB,

It's no biggie. I was just excited for this week. My goal is to lose 20 lbs so as long as I stick to it I only have 15lbs to go!

Way to go ladies! Happy birthday @Completelyrandomsally!

It was my birthday on Friday, so I knew this weekend was going to be a bit of a gong show, but I made good choices and still had my cake :)

    Start: 156.6

    Last week: 147

    This week: 145.4

Loss this week: 1.6lbs Total loss: 11.2lbs!!

I did what I wanted to do and skipped the 146's all together. :) I'm offically past my original goal and headed towards my final goal of 139. I worked out 4 times this week (thanks Ms. Pascua for the inspiration!!) and minus the birthday cake, did quite well with my eating. I'm officially at the lowest weight I can remember which totally makes me thrilled. I went and bought some new clothes on the weekend (yay for birthday money!) and they were all in smaller sizes than I would normally purchase (or even try on! woohoo!!)

Thanks for providing such great motivation ladies!!

Last year I resolved to lose 12 pounds and eventually lost 18. My weight crept up a bit over the winter but I held at or below my original target weight ... until this morning. I'm at my heaviest weight in a year! I always thought that my pre-wedding fitness motivation would be high, but it's really the opposite. I can't seem to get myself in gear! My goals are:

    1) 4 workouts (2 aerobic, 2 weight training) per week

    2) stick to original weight loss plan instead of sneaking in no-no foods and letting my portion sizes creep up.

    3) tone up and lose @ 5lbs. by 7/31/10 wedding date.

Go, all of you! Looks like some great motivation and excellent progress.

ms.pascua's plan and the extra motivation from all of you this past week really paid off! I am thrilled to have lost 1.8 pounds. Helps make up for last week. I worked out 5 days, walked 5 days, and stuck to my points budget for my diet all 7 days. I even made it through my shower without gaining! I tried on my wedding dress this weekend and can't wait to get closer to my goal and see how it looks in the end. Thank you for the inspiration, everyone :)

    start: 167.6 lbs

    last week: 143.8 lbs

    this week: 142.0

    loss/total loss: -1.8/-25.6

Great job gals!! I am so proud of all of you and your losses!!

Unfortunately, my being sick had a negative impact on my weightloss for the week.

    Starting Weight: 204

    Last Week: 186

    This Week:188

    gain=2lb :(

I am bummed about gaining the 2lbs, but not too concerned I was a sick puppy last week and couldn't get to the gym at all, missed a few days of work and slept a lot.  Today is the start to a new week and added motivation to get to that 20lb mark...with the gain I need to drop 4lbs...not sure that will happen in a week, but any progress is good progress.  I will update on my workout later tonight.

This is great- having this thread to come back to definitely is helping to motivate me! I ate really healthy this past week, and I'm excited to continue on with it!

My goals for this week are:

-to work out at the club three days this week

-not eat anything from a fast food restaurant that isn't a salad or yogurt (or a grilled chicken wrap with no sauce or cheese from McD's-- it's a grilled chicken breast with lettuce in a tortilla, mmmmmm :D) (I want this to be a full time goal, but lets start one week at a time!)

-restart my ab and arm workouts before bed, they really helped me tone before, so I gotta pick this up again!

-check in on this thread everyday, because reading how successful you ladies are is such a great motivation to step it up!

@Vonnegurl - Wow! Over 25 lbs lost! Congrats that is so awesome :)

I'm weighing myself on Wednesday so I will check back then. My goals for the week are:

    - get out and walk the puppy twice a day for 15 mins (only safe to walk him for 15 mins at a time apparently)

    - do an ab workout every second day (So Monday, Wed, Fri)

    - stick to the healthy eating plan!!!!

Wow, ladies!  Amazing results (for the healthy - sooo NOT your fault @bluebutterfly - glad you're feeling better!) this week. And it's YOU ALL who stuck to the plan, kudos to YOU!

@toothfairyb: Happy Belated!  We Pisces have to stick together, no? And doesn't fitting into a smaller size feel FANTASTIC? That was my silverlining in last week's 2.5 regain - I was fitting into a size smaller...LOVE it!

@completelyrandomsally: Happy (almost) Birthday! Really great goals this week...I'm going to add that 64oz. of water a day one to mine...woo, that's a lot of water.  A few quick tips about the "adult beverage" that I got from my gym's trainers in prep for my b-day last week:

    • generally, lighter colored alcohols have less calories, go with white rather than red, vodka rather than rum or whiskey, etc. & stay away from creams (like Bailey's) or creamy drinks (like white russians)
    • really, it's the food that you eat with the "adult" bevs rather than the bevs themselves...so try to surround yourself with the tuna tartare, hummus with veggie crudites (rather than pita bread), oysters on the half shell, or tomato bruschetta or plain nuts & stay away from sliders or fries or spinach/artichoke dip (really, there's more cream & cheesiness & less veg), etc.
    • Ask a sympathetic friend to help cut you off from the stuff that's "bad"...as the b-day girl, it's hard (and some think it's rude) to turn down a gifted shot or homemade treat...having a trusty girlfriend say "no" to the shot for you or agreeing to halve the homemade treat with you will help keep calories down

@bluebutterfly: you look FABULOUS in your Bach-party dress...it's really similar to my Friday wedding dress - LOVE the swath of black & the petal-ly skirt!

I'm headed to the gym tonight for my weigh in & a combined kettlebell & gliders interval workout - total 30 minutes.  The "gliders" workout is something my (kick-butt, drill sargent) BM introduced me to at our last workout on Sunday: You'll need a timer on your wristwatch - preferably one that allows you to repeat the 30 second cycle continously - & an alarm on the wristwatch, too, set for 15 minutes.  You get two purple glider pads (about 4in. diameter circular pads) & put them on a smooth floor (like wood or laminate, etc.), then get into plank position with your feet on the pads (to start, you'll need to put your knees down to keep the pads from flying out from under you), start the time & then do "mountain climbers" with your feet on the pads (hands in plank position, core muscles engaged, & your legs are continuously going in motion - like you're climbing a mountain, but on the floor).  Go non-stop for 30 seconds, when your timer goes off; rest for 30 seconds (don't get far out of position - to don't really have time - keep water & towel close so you can rehydrate & clear sweat within the 30 second rest); then start again when the timer goes off, for another 30 seconds...repeat for 15 minutes.  Combine that with a 15 minute kettlebell workout & you have a total body interval workout that kicks your @$$...or at least it kicks mine.  Looking forw

I forgot, last time I weighed myself I was at about 167 or so, but it's been a while-- I want to attempt to get to be 149 (just so I can be under 150!), but my big goal is to get my inches to a place where I'm happy.

I love how my body looks from the side, but from dead on, I just look...wide :/

But- this is why I'm here- to get to a point where I am completely happy with my body!

Huh...don't know why, but it cut off the rest of my comment.  Sorry so long-winded, ladies!

    My Goals for this week:

    1. Keeping up with the 4 days a week workouts (planning for 5, so if I get that last one in, it will be a bonus)
    2. Going back to sticking to plan 90% this week...FI had to stop me from binging on a muffin this morning - I find that having a cheat meal keeps me from binging without requiring phyiscal restraint
    3. Inspired by @completelyrandomsally: Drink 64 oz of water everyday (8 cups...as my students would say, "That's a MISSION!")
    4. Make sure to take my Women's One-A-Day each day (on-going)...for some reason I keep forgetting & my pre-natal prepping body needs that folic acid!
    5. Inspired by @CuppinKeix: checking in everyday to keep getting inspired & make sure I stay on check!

Good luck with your goals this week ladies!

    Hello everyone!

I'm new to the hive and I'm hoping to join your workout group:)  My wedding is in about 90 days (eep!) and I'm looking for inspiration and support in dropping some weight.  Right now I'm about 157 and I'm hoping to lose about 10-15 lbs.  It'll be great to go through this with people who actually understand!

@ ms.pascua - For me, the key to drinking that much water is a straw. Gulping it down is not easy for me, but give me a straw and it's a breeze. I actually drink a 32 oz glass of water while I'm getting ready in the morning for work. I'm in the restroom a lot in the morning, but I feel so much better throughout the day. I don't feel bad when I have a cup of coffee (or 2) at work.
Thanks for the early birthday wishes, friends!

    Hi ladies-

My goal for the week is to work out at least 3 times this week (hopefully 4 times). I woke up early this morning and jogged a mile without stopping (which is no easy feat when I barely made 1/4 mile 2 weeks ago) Since the weather is rainy for today and tomorrow, I'll do 30 day Shred at home both nights.

Here's hoping I will get toned and have some tight abs soon! :)

@OttawaBride2011 -- Thanks :) It would be more rewarding if I hadn't hit the 25 lb goal already in October...and then gained 5 pounds back! But I guess that's part of the process sometimes.

Your puppy is lucky to have you watching out for his healthy development. I hope you two have some nice weather for your walks!

I haven't been working as hard but I squeaked by and lost a pound.

My goal is to go to the gym at least 2 or 3 times this week.  I need to wake up early for it or go right after work.  I want to be able to work on the elliptical and work on my arms.

Hi everyone!  Looks like a lot of you did really good this last week, nice work :)  I feel a cold coming on, I've been saying that though the last 2 months and it has just been allergies, this seems worse though, ick.  Anyhoo....

    Start: 207

    Last week: 204

    This week: 203

    Loss this week: 1 lb

    Total Loss: 4 lbs

Man I want to lose 3 lbs this week but I don't know if it will happen in my current sore throat and stuffy state!  I was feeling kinda bummed out today because a few months ago I weighed 195 and swore I'd never be over 200 again.  Then I had to have my wisdom teeth pulled and I got out of my groove.  12 lbs later...you know the story.  Just seems like such a waste to loose...gain...loose.  It's hard to stay motivated in the long term, this has been helping though.

    Good morning, friends!

I walked a mile last night because it was nice out when I got home. I think did Biggest Loser Last Chance Workout. I drank more than 64 oz of water yesterday.

Tonight I'm meeting a friend of a walk/run after work. I brought all my stuff with me so I can't say no.

I'm hitting the gym at 2:15 so I'll weigh in and post my stats after that, but I just had to share with someone...

    My skinny jeans fit again!!!

My favorite JCrew jeans. I guess they were my fat jeans when I got them, but damn - they're a size 30 and they are comfortable again. I wore them all weekend and today I got back into my size 8 work pants without having to suck it in or anything. I feel GREAT today!

    Height: 5'8"

    Starting weight: 157

    Last Week: 144.8

    Today: 145.2

    Gain - negligible

    Total Loss - 11.8

Just back from the gym. 10 minutes rowing, 10 minutes elliptical. I skipped Sat, Sun, Mon, but I did hit 5 days in a row before that. I'd chalk that .4 up to regular weight fluctuations. I feel AWESOME. I didn't do great with the eating (or the drinking) over the weekend, but it wasn't too terrible. One of my friends just started working at a brand new bar 3 blocks from my apartment. This spells trouble - especially because I don't normally drink a whole lot so I don't need to be adding empty calories into my diet, but it's hard not to when people keep thrusting free shots in your face. I just have to stay the hell out of there during the week - for my weight and my sanity!

Great start to the week everybody - keep up the good work!

    Hello Goal Weight!

    Starting weight: 176.5

    Last week: 164.0

    This week: 161.5

    Loss: -2.5/-15 lbs

I originally set a goal weight of 163 pounds but really wanted to shoot for 160.  I lost a "whopping" 2.5 unexpected pounds this week and have set a new goal weight of 155.  I cannot remember the last time I weighed under 163 (it was quite possibly pree 1994).  I've found more motivation than ever now that I'm losing some serious "poundage".  : )

@SweetAdeline: Congrats on fitting into your skinny jeans, it's such a great feeling!

@completelyrandomsally: I love that you can't say no when you have all your "stuff", I'm the same way.  Keep it up!

Everyone is doing fantastic and is so very positive.  Your encouragement really helps!  Keep up the great work.  Hope everyone that's getting sick mends quickly.
