With exactly 5 months until my wedding day I did another turbofire workout (HIIT 15, Sculpt 30) and I feel great! My diet hasn't been the best all weekend, but fi and I have been running around non-stop, so I don't feel so bad about it. Yesterday we super cleaned the entire house (even rented a carpet cleaner...and I was out on the roof of our porch so I could properly clean the outside of the windows lol) and man was that a workout! And today we set up our registry at Ikea (yay!) which included like 2 and half hours of walking around! I don't think I've sat down all weekend except to sleep or scrub the walls/base boards!
@MissAsB: You're so close! It will be here before you know it!
@MandaMack: Awesome job on all the exercising you did this weekend!
As for me, I've had another setback :o( I went for a 3 mile run yesterday and did fine until the end. I've been having issues with my foot since my 10k, and last night towards the end of my run, I had sharp, shooting pains throughout it. So that's not good. I could barely walk home with how much pain I was in, and I can't figure out what it is. I'm making an appointment at my doctor b/c my 10-miler is in 3 weeks, and I haven't been doing much for it the last 2 weeks b/c I've been resting my knee and foot. I'm very afraid that it's a stress fracture, so we'll see. DARNIT!
Hope you other bees are having a better time at it than me!
I just did Turbofire "fire 55EZ" and I am literally dripping sweat right now...hahahah. I'm gross, but I feel great! I'm finally getting back into a workout "groove"!
Hello....? Any workout buddies out there?
Today the Turbo Fire schedule said to do Core 20 Stretch 40, but I think the extended stretch is boring so I did the Core 20 and then did 30 minutes of Pilates.
Checking in. Sunday and Monday didn't happen to be the best days for me due to going out of town for a baseball game and going out to celebrate DH's birthday. Today I am trying to stay on top of things. However, I have done very little for working out other then taking the dogs out for a walk.
I have the 5k this weekend and I am currently up to running 2 miles
but I guess that isn't bad for one week of running right? Thursday I am going to attempt to run a 5k and then do an easier run on Friday.
@Nola: Good luck this weekend!
I just did "Fire 45, Stretch 10" and that technically completed the second week of the program! I'm really enjoying it, and definitely feeling the benefits of consistantly working out again (more energy throughout the day, less stressed feeling)! Now I just have to stick with it!
I feel like I'm a lone workout buddy this week...
Again, turbofire. Today it was Fire45 EZ. And today I got my second dose of Gardisil (the HPV vaccine) I don't know if any of you have had it, but it hurts like a mother effer! And my arm is soooooo sore, doing the kickboxing it felt like it was going to fall off! I'm gonna go eat some dinner and ice my arm, lol!
@MandaMack: Your not alone. I have just not done the best job in the world this week. I can't believe tomorrow is Friday. We ate out for lunch 3 times this week :( My leg start killing me two days ago so I haven't ran at all for the last 2 days either. Yesterday I just did the eliptical and today I skipped working out all together.
@MandaMack: I'm sorry for making you the only one! It's the final push for school but hopefully I will have everything done for school this weekend so I can work out next week!
@Nola: Awww, don't feel bad! There's got to be someone else out there that's working out! Remember how busy these posts were around New Years!? We need to get some of the New Years Resolutioners back on the wagon!
@MissAsB: I totally understand about school! Are you in your final, final semester? Or are you just excited to be done with it for now?
Should have checked in earlier this week, but completely forgot.. Monday, I just did arms and abs. Tuesday was a rainy day here and I was just too lazy/tired to do anything (regretted that the next day!) Wednesday I got back into it and did NMTZ and yesterday I went running outside.. Felt sooo good! Today I plan to go running again after work..
My dress should be coming in soon and I am keeping that in the back of my mind. Plus VS just released some new bathing suits and I'm eyeing those up too! :)
Sorry! I'm back! I totally forgot to check back in with you girls!
@MandaMack: Awesome job on all the TurboFire stuff! I've never had the Guarasil vaccinations (I was too old when it came out), but hopefully your arm feels better!
@Nola: Hopefully your leg starts to feel better for your 5k! Good luck w/ that this weekend and keep stretching it!
As for me...I canceled my Dr. Appt for my foot b/c I'm an idiot! I figured out that the pain in my foot was being caused by the inserts I bought for my sneakers. Once I replaced those with my regular sneaker inserts, the foot pain was gone! DUH!
So...I ran on Wednesday 3 miles and yesterday 4 miles. I'm going to just go for a walk today b/c I forgot my gym stuff at home. I might be able to squeeze in a shorter run once I get home later. We'll see!
Hope you girls have a productive weekend!
@2PeasinaPod: It felt much better today! I can only imagine how weird I looked yesterday though, because my strength was totally lopsided!
Did my next Turbo Fire workout today (HIIT 25) which makes 2 Fridays in a row that I worked out! Go me! lol
@Nola: Good luck if you still end up racing this weekend! But if you don't feel up to it, don't hurt yourself!!!
@MandaMack: Yes it is my final final semester ever! I might get certifications later but that doesn't require going back to school!
It is raining hard and is only 31 degrees so I opted to not run the race today since my leg has been giving me issues. However, I did decide that I was going to start the 100 push up and 200 squat challenge this week. I did the initial test this morning and will do the push ups for today this evening and the squats tomorrow.
I was kind of excided to see that I am in the excellent group for the squat challenge though so I skip ahead to week 3. I guess if all goes right in 3 weeks I will be able to do 200 squats non stop. We shall see how it goes. I will also be adding the 200 sit up challenge at sometime. However, will it be at the same time as these two or wait till I finish the Squat challenge.
@Nola: I tried doing the 100 pushup challenge thing but it really just didn't work with my schedule. I found myself not doing enough cardio at all because I was trying to rest in order to be able to do the pushups, lol. Hopefully you'll have better luck with it!
Yesterday was my rest day and today I did Turbo Fire HIIT 15 Tone 30. There are two resistance workouts in Turbo Fire (Tone 30 and Sculpt 30) and instead of using weights you use a resistance band and I really like it! I don't think I've ever really "taken a resistance band seriously," so to say, but man, you can work your arms really hard with one!
Hiya! I've been MIA for a bit, still working out a bunch though. Last week I fell off the wagon just a bit due to traveling and being tired from said traveling, but I did get three crossfit days and a run in on Sunday, I also count a big hike to make up for a run I was supposed to do on Tuesday :-P
I'm also challenging myself to do 100 "real" push-ups. My CrossFit workout today was 100 pull-ups (which i used a band for assistance with), 100 push-ups (did them on my knees), 100 sit-ups and 100 squats, all for time. I was under 25 minutes on it! I still hav a long way to go for real push ups and pull ups, my arms are killing me now though, so I know I got a good workout in.
@seattlemeg: Your workout sounds insane. Give me hardcore cardio over push-ups and pull-ups any day!
Turbo Fire again for me today... Fire 45 EZ, Stretch 10. I really like that "fire" class, it's just fun!
So this morning fi looked at me and went "You look really skinny babe!" and I said thanks, but I was thinking "thank you Turbo Fire/ pin stripe suit" lol
@MandaMack: That must have been great!
Yesterday I had my first track meet of the season (coach Jr. High Track) so I didn't have a change to do anything other then day 2 of my push up challenge. This morning I got up and went to the gym for a very brief work out. I did 10 mins of eliptical (can you say lazy) and then then 10 mins of abs and 20 mins of weights. Later today I will do day 2 of the squat challenge.
@Nola: How are your challenges going?
Yesterday I had the longest day ever at work so I didn't work out; it was only 20 minutes of abs that was on my schedule anyway. Today I did Fire 55EZ and I can definitely feel myself pushing harder all the way through the workouts now! I'm excited to be getting in better shape (and to see my little six pack trying to come through again, lol).
@MandaMack: Sounds like you are doing a great job even with your day off. HOw much have you lost (in or pounds)?
I finished week 1 tonight of the Push Up challenge and it feels great to say I am down a week. I have one day left on Week 3 of the Squat challenge. I think the squat challenge will be the one that shows more results though.
Today we had a snow day (over 8 inches of snow over night) and I didn't make it out of the house at all :( My only work out was the Push up challenge with a minut of jumping jacks in between. It sounds crazy but it was pretty hard doing a minute straight of jumping jacks.
I am down 4 pounds and 4 inches in 2 weeks!
I took this weekend to rest; I think I had pinched a nerve in my left shoulder or something. But today I did HIIT 20 (my least favorite of the HIIT classes - it's just kinda boring) and Sculpt 30. Chalene Johnson has given me a completely new outlook on resistance bands. Her sculpt/tone classes are killer!
Rainy day and semi interview this morning meant that I didn't make it to the gym or out for a run. However, I did work on my squat and sit up challenge. Today's totals are 166 squats and 73 sit ups. I have been tyring to look for some new options for healthier meals also. We always eat the same meals and I am sick of them!
@MandaMack: Good job on your workout yesterday. Did we lose everyone else?
@Nola: I think we are lone workout buddies, lol. Good for you for keeping up with the challenges!
Yesterday I didn't work out. My shoulder is still kind of bothering me, so I'm trying to take it easy, and I was running around like a crazy person yesterday! But I'm definitely working out tonight, whatever is next on the schedule!
Today I feel like an over achiever in the workout zone. I started the day with a trip to the gym. Did a little cardio and then shoulders and biceps. We then did a new fitness class at the gym that is nothing but abs. Tonight I did my push up challenge with 72 push ups followed with 2 1 minute sets of jumping jacks to just burn a few more calories and get my heart pumping. Hopefully this all pays off! I think I am also going to start tracking how many miles I do a week/month.
@MandaMack: Thanks for being my daily buddy. What did you do to your shoulder?
@Nola: Over achiever is an understatement! I'm not exactly sure what I did to my shoulder. I think I pinched a nerve or something (turbo fire is basically all kickboxing, so I may have just over worked it). I still get a little twinge every now and then, and it feels a little weak, but not enough to stop me for working out.
I did turbofire again (duh) Fire 55 EZ. I've decided I 100% prefer the "fire" workouts over the HIIT workouts; I just don't feel like I get as much out of a 15 minute workout as I do out of a 50 minute one, I don't care how hard I push myself for those 15 minutes!
@MandaMack : How is the shoulder feeling?
I have been a slacker the last few days and had a hard time fitting in my fitness portion. Yesterday I finally did my squat challenge. This morning I did the sit up and push up challenge. 83 sit ups and 81 push ups!
I have also decided that I wanted to do a lifestyle change and be a better stay at home wifey. My husband is starting a new job on Monday and will officially be back to eating dinner with us. I decided that I am making all cooked meals for us. No boxed stuff! Our shopping cart looked so nice when I had it filled with lots of fruits, veggies and different kinds of fresh meat!
I started a new thread for May.

Hey ladies! Not much to report here, I'm just waiting for the semester to be over and hoping the government doesn't shut down next week!
How are you doing?
