We don’t have a gym at my work, so I have to go after work, after sitting in traffic for 30 minutes. I get home around 7pm, then I have to shower, so we don’t normally eat on those days until around 7:30. It stinks..but I just can’t force myself to workout before work. I need my sleep more then I need to work out πŸ™‚

I have on very rare occasions worked out twice in a day, but it’s very rare.  Honestly, I don’t think my body likes it very much since the re-warming myself up only a few hours after working out again is pretty hard on me.

I usually get off around 4:30 and head straight to the gym.  Since most people don’t get off before 5, it beats the rush.  I used to be an every day morning workout person, but since I started playing frisbee at night, that changed since it was very hard to go from night frisbee to morning run (owie soreness).

Can you go straight to the gym in the building after work?  That way you’re not as rushed as you would be at lunch, but there’s no chance of getting home first and being distracted.  It stinks to get home later, but 6 isnt’ too late compared to a lot of people.

I work from 9am – 6pm at the earliest every day and have about 1 hr to get home so if I work out in the evenings I have no time to myself. Instead I bite the bullet at get up an hour early and go to the gym…if I finished work at 4.30pm I’d happily go after work, that’s still pretty early to me!

Right now, I’ve been running before work, and then doing weights after work.

I can get up in the AM and workout if I have to, but I never seem to have enough energy to really get my heart rate up and get a sweaty session in so close to when I wake up for the day. I’ve tried different breakfasts and waking up earlier but I still have the same problem.

So, I workout after work. I work 9-5 and then workout from 6-7ish.

My favorite time to workout is around 10-11 AM but I’m at work during that time.

I’m super lucky to have a wonderful and FREE gym at work.  I love to work out during my lunch hour and am lucky that my job is flexible that I can pretty much take as much time as I need.  However, I also like working out in the morning a lot better and will start to do a bootcamp in the area.  Yes, getting up early sucks but then I get it over with.  It’s too easy for me to justify not working out at lunch or after work if I get a better offer like lunch or dinner with a friend.  πŸ™‚

I have recently lost my mind and started getting up at 4:30am to do an hour of cardio at the gym before work.  After work I go straight home and do weights (P90X style) with a friend of mine.  Getting up that early SUCKS but once you are in a routine it works and I actually start enjoying it.  I think the idea you gave of doing weights during lunch and cardio after work sounds like it should work.  Like you said, you get more exercise in and you don’t get home later.  You might have to force yourself to do it until you are used to it but then it should be fine.  The huge help for me after work is having a buddy.  Even if you don’t necessarily work out with that person, knowing that someone will notice whether you are there or not is a decent motivator.

I get up early before work and do weights at 5am Monday-Thursday. And a few nights a weeks I will do cardio classes with my friends. What motivates me to go after work is that my friends will be in class and that I get to see them. Plus I feel so good after the class. i am such a morning person that going to the gym in the morning isn’t bad at all. I also do a class Sunday mornings, too. I think it is just about establishing a routine that will work for you. it might take a few trials to finally find it. How awesome that you have a gym at work to use!

I don’t currently work out, but I am trying to talk hubs into going to the gym with me after work.  We get home between 5 and 7, so we would eat dinner and then go from 8-9, come home and shower and then go to bed.  We’ll see how that works out…
