So… my Fiance has been workign out like twice a day and me… well… I’ve been napping more. I have always hated exercising but I need to get over it. My problem is I know I’m not fat (5’4”-123-127ibs) but I seriously am in horrible shape and have no definition/am not toned at all, so working out is miserable because it is boring and I know I won’t really see any big results… My major concerns for the wedding, which is 101 days away, are my arms and legs… I really want thinner thighs, not that they will show on that day but just because I want to feel my best on that special day. Any motivation advice or fun exercises especially for arms and legs… does anyone have any way of punishing themselves for not exercising… I feel like that might be a better route for me at this point. lol

I’m horrible about working out lately but here is what motivates me: when you work out, not only does your body look better, but your skin and hair look better too… a healthy body kind of glows. If you don’t have the motivation to hit the gym, take the stairs, walk or ride your bike rather than drive, and just follow the rule “eat less, move more” 🙂

I hate working out but i have to do it. My best friend is getting married in May and one of her weekend events in a beach bbq, everyone in swimsuits, and there will be a photog so i have to get bikini ready. I am very unmotivated but what has helped me was to take a pic of myself in my bikini, and whenever i dont feel like going to the gym i look at it and ask myself is this they way i want to be immortalized in those pics. It hasnt failed yet.
Another thing i do is just get there. I tell myself if i go to the gym i only have to work out a little, but once im there its fine and i end up doing my entire workout. Since you just want to tone i suggest focusing on lifting weights and you will notice a difference in no time. Good luck 🙂

I will make you a promise…if you make yourself go with your Fiance for 3 weeks, you will have formed a habit that your body will crave.
I think we may be twins because I am 5’4″ and had gotten to 126 when I realized that I needed to do something about my toning and overall look. MY Fiance told me that if I went for 3 straight weeks with him, he would buy me these diamond earrings I have wanted. I stuck to the promise and now I WANT to go workout almost daily.

I give myself gold stars on our wall calendar for working out. Seriously. They make me happy.
My trick for not getting complacent at home is setting myself little challenges when I know I have been or will be just sitting around for a while.
Like if I’m watching the TV, during the commercial break I’ll get off the couch and see how many pushups I can do. Or I’ll plant my back against a wall, walk myself down until I’m supporting myself in a squat position and see how long I can hold it (that’ll give your thighs a run for their money!). Or I will pick up a 5lb weight in each hand go back and forth across my living room doing lunges. I also like doing tricep dips holding onto a sturdy coffeetable or a chair.

Gold stars and bribery from the Fiance check! lol great tips ladies! Thanks so much. I am making a goal to go to the gym with him and just make myself stay for atleast 30 minutes every day. That is a start. I’m going to also try to do pushups every morning when I wake up. I decided what a good punishment would be for me to get moving too… no more wedding websites if I haven’t worked out within 2 days. lol That will get my butt motivated, I <3 weddingbee! 🙂

I hated it too but then I started to love how I felt and looked. And I felt hot at my wedding. The biggest thing I did was find a workout that actually worked for me which was working with a personal trainer. Also, I only made small changes so I wasn’t miserable. I mostly didn’t change what I ate but ate less.
