I actually think it's good to workout before dinner. Your metabolism will be nice and speedy when you eat, and you're less likely to overeat.
My big problem comes in when I get home at 9:30 or so. I'm usually famished, and end up having some of my dinner before my workout, which is stupid. I end up with less energy and motivation. But otherwise I'm running on empty!
Kudos to you for waking up early in the morning to work out---even if it was short-term! If the timing works for you, I'd stick with it. Don't worry about eating back the calories you just burned---you still gotta eat dinner sometime. : ) I usually go after dinner, sometimes pretty late. It can be tricky, because once my tummy's happy from dinner and I start feeling a little drowsy, it's tough to get motivated to go. But I'd be too hungry to work out before dinner!

I have just recently started getting, well trying, to get back into my workout routine. I was waking up early before work to go, but I was just so tired and would rather sleep. Lately I have been going after work, which actually I love once I get there. The problem is I workout and go straight home to eat, and I don't eat until after 7. Should I try something else? Am I just gaining back what i just worked off? What should I do?!!
