I have done low carb in the past and i am back on a low carb diet. Low carb will really help you drop the weight.. usually we (my FI and I) do low carb to jump start then follow thru with a low calorie.. (thats easier for us)

Yes when i first started working out i thought of only doing cardio but that doesnt help.. it does but doesnt you want to get some muscle because muscle outweights the fat.  even being 280lbs my arms are more toned then some of my friends who are 210lbs. i lift and pretty heavy for a girl but i read that even lifting heavy women do not get too bulky because we dont produce testosterone like men so lifting heavy will only help burn fat.. I used to be scared to lift heavy but i love the way i feel after a great lifting session.. remember squats and lunges also they are my best friend and biggest enemy. Maybe try a kickboxing class if your gym has them i tried a hiphop dance but i plan on going to a kick boxing class they are so FUN.

Your friend is right you will slip and fail.. but just get back on it.. I was down to 250lbs and let myself go and i gained it all back.. but i am back on it 🙂
