@star_dust:  Hey! I LOVE workout DVDs. I am not sure what’s available on iTunes, but I do get all my DVDs from Amazon. For fat-burning workouts you probably want more cardio workouts, although strength-training is super good for you too. My favorite is the TurboJam workouts. They are cardio kickboxing and range from 20-50 minutes. I also use weighted gloves to up the calorie burn and also get a good arm workout. For me they go by super fast because I enjoy them. They also have an abs workout and weight-lifting workout. YouTube has some good trailers for them if you are not familiar with TurboJam. Good for you for making weight loss goals! I have weight loss goals too and it really helps to stick with working out when you enjoy it. I have about 40 DVDs so I will try and look through them and come back and post other good ones that are fat burners.

I pretty much love anything by Jillian Michaels. Her most popular one is 30 day shred, but I actually really like her kickboxing workout. They are 20 minute workouts, so great if you are crunched for time!

Hey! me and a girlfriend do DVD work outs 5 days a week. 

We have a variety of the Jillian Michaels DVD’s and love them. Her work outs are short and complete and are a great way to get in shape and lose weight (if you’re also eating healthy). 

We have:

Ripped in 30 (fav)
30 Day Shred (fav)
Yoga Meltdown (haven’t tried this yet)
No More Trouble Zones

and I know we have a couple more but I can’t remember what they’re called! I’ll check and update when I get home. 🙂 

They’re also inexpensive too. Less than 10$

I just started doing 30 day shred… Holy Cannoli my legs and arms are burning.  This will be my third day in a row and right now I switch between level 1 and 2 since they each have different components.  I woke up this morning with my thighs on fire!  Definitely a keeper and i’m doing it in conjunction with a pilates video i have to do a little extra lengthening and core work.

@.twist.:  Agreed, Jillian Michael’s workouts are super hard and effective. Way to go, OP! I have 30 Day Shred too and it is HARD! I get bored easily so I always switch stuff out. Here is a sample of my weekly workouts. 

Mon:30 minutes TurboJam, 10 mins abs. 

Tue: Power yoga, at least 30 mins. I love JM’s yoga meltdown. Not very yoga-y, but super effective. 

Wed: TurboJam 45 mins.

Thur: Weight training of some kind. I love all of the CoreFusion DVDs too…less cardio, but such a great workout and super short too. 

Fri: Rest. And usually gobble a bit more too! Let’s be honest here. 

Sat and Sun vary, usually just something short. 

Acacia makes great workout DVDs. Search for them on Amazon. My latest fav from them is Weight Loss Pilates. 


Also love Weight Loss Cardio Sculpt which is 30-min interval training.


As you see, I am all about intense workouts that are as short as possible! Keep it up! I am sure you are doing amazing!

Update: after one full week doing the Shred and seriously watching what i eat… (ie: no white starches, no pasta, no alcohol… salads, salads, salads)  i’ve lost 3lbs and 1.5 inches from my waist and hips and 1 inch from my chest. … i’m going to start next week doing level 1 and 2 together 4 days a week and level 2 and a 8 min pilates video 3 days a week.
