- Wedding: January 2014 - Lizard Island, Australia
i just wanted to share this ring that I forgot I owned. I bought when I was 15 (I’m 30 now!) and at the time I wanted it to be my engagement ring when I ‘grew up’! My fiancé says he wishes having had to shell out for a ring for me! 🙂 Anyway just thought I’d share as I took it into the jewellers today to have it sized up and I had it dipped in rhodium playing as it was 9 karat yellow gold and I don’t tend to wear yellow gold.
Safly they tested it and its not a real diamond. But due to the small size they said tcry could put a real diamond in for a total cost of £140. Anybody think its worth doing?

Cute story 🙂 That’s very sweet.
A real diamond of that size should be much lower priced. They’re overcharging.

@joya_aspera: +1. I thought the same thing.
ETA: I would ask another jeweller.

@MsKaren: it would be cute to wear as a stacked ring!! You could wear it with 2 other rings of different styles! It has a cute back story!!

Sorry, picture didn’t load in my previous post! 🙂

@MsKaren: I would keep it just like that and wear as a RHR. Cute.

How sweet & meaningful would it be for that to become your wedding band?

That’s super cute!! I’d probably wanna put a colored gem in it but a diamond would be neat too.

@MsKaren: I think you should definitely add a diamond to it, but go to another jeweler, because the one you spoke to was trying to rip you off.
I love small solitaires, so I think it’d be great.

Honestly at that size no one can tell if it’s a diamond or not. I would just leave it as it is.

@MsKaren: That is so cute! I wouldn’t change it for sentimental reasons.
