I have a G centerstone. It's never looked yellow to me. Are you having it set in white gold/platinum or yellow gold?
I almost had a G for my ering and I've had G stones in other rings (all WG). IMO, it doesn't look yellow and since you are not setting it next to D/E colored stones, you will be fine.
P.S. I have a H&A cushion and I love it! Congrats on your H&A round!
@Minirayray: Mine is an heirloom, but the jeweler estimated it to be a G. It is beautiful and I have never noticed a hint of color!

I would trust your jeweler's words. After all, he's the one that's going to be liable if you ultimately reject the ring
I wouldn't be concerned with a G-color. I have an H-color stone and it always looks sparkling white to me. But then again, I have a round brilliant and excellent cut diamond which I heard both really help with the overall look of the diamond. What shape diamond are you getting? If you're concerned about getting a really white diamond, I wouldn't go below an H.

Oh, and my side stones are F-color by the way. I really can't tell the difference
Nope, there should really not be any yellow unless you have like Superwoman vision. The ideal cut of your H&A should be able to mask any tint of yellow better than an average-cut stone. Even then your stone is only a G and there should be almost no yellow to begin with. I have a J color H&A and it only has the slightest warm tint at certain angles or when put up against a white backdrop. I dont think you need to worry.
Is it a GIA-graded G? I think those are generally pretty nice. Mine's an F and I have to really, really look to see the hint of warmth (and I am very detail-oriented). G is only one grade below... I wouldn't call it yellow-looking. I think it's categorized as "almost colorless" and that is accurate. It'll look pretty white most of the time.
@romantical my diamond is a round brilliant cut ideal hearts and arrows, I picked it because it was the single most sparkley diamond I have seen...and I looked at diamonds for 3 months.
Mine is an H and doesn't look yellow to me. I'd think your G would be just fine.
Mine's an H and the side stones are D. In this picture you can maybe see a tiny bit of warmth? I've never noticed it in real life though - it just looks super white and sparkly. I wouldn't worry :)
Sorry this is so freaking huge!

@joya_aspera: I honesty can't remember if it was GIA graded...my jewler did go to the GIA school and has the best reputation in the surrounding area so I trust him. Also I think he said that the GIA doesn't acknowledge hearts and arrows diamonds yet, or doesn't mark them so on the paperwork. But he physically put the diamond into one of those calibrating machine things that they have at the GIA for grading in front of me so I saw the exact measurements and all that light reflecting jazz. I guess im more concerned with people saying...oh it's only a G. It's just that it's so muuuuuuuuch money that im obsessing over it to make sure it's perfect.
@Minirayray: I doubt they'll say it's "only a G." First of all, that would be extremely rude. Second, G is a nice color, not something you'd call "yellowish." I don't think too many people would dispute that. And finally, from what I see on the weddingbee at least, a lot of people get H or lower grades, so it might even be more like "Oh wow, a G!"
It definitely depends on the setting, but I've never seen a G colored stone that went yellow...
Is it GIA graded? If so, you have absolutely nothing to worry about!! I have a G color and there's never, ever, ever a hint of yellow. I've never even heard of anyone being concerned about yellow-ness in a G. Here's my G:

Thanks to alllll of you!!!!! I'm feeling much better and more confident now! All of your rings are truely stunning!!!! I can't wait to post mine, however its still a few weeks away from being completed, and then amother few weeks untill my fiancé comes to visit and propose for the second time :)
You'll be fine! It will be great! Mine is an L (gasp!) and it only looks yellow in my office - which is painted bright yellow with no windows and awful lighting! I also have a halo with G stones and the center stone looks just as white as the G's. You will absolutely be fine! Diamonds are graded upside down but can look very different right side up. My L faces up very white and when it was appraised in the setting it was graded as a G-H.
i tihnk especially if you are having blue stones set next to it you will not be able to tell at all that its a G. Blue counteracts yellow a lot (thats why if you have stained teeth everyone reccomends a blue based lipstick to make teeth look whiter) so im betting that when you actually get your ring you will have nothing to worry about!
My stone is a J - the very last "near colorless" grade. I've only been able to see yellow-ish color when it's in yellow-ish light. I think you'll be perfectly safe with a G. :)
@JB21 yay that's very comforting. I think my perception is off because I'm looking at pictures and diamonds looks so different and white to me in pictures, In real life I feel like diamonds look clear and darker Maybe I'm not sure. Is that how it's supposed to be?
Kinda like this
Yes, photos of diamonds are not very telling about their color in person, and usually go in the flattering direction...they generally look quite a bit whiter in photos (in fact it's also hard to see cut and clarity in photos...I think photos are really more helpful for seeing band designs than picking diamonds). But I still hold that GIA-graded (or equiv) Gs are not "yellowish," only very slightly warm and it wouldn't bother most people. You could always go look one more time before deciding!
G is considered near colorless, so you have nothing to worry about. My center stone is a J and my side stones are G and my ring does not look yellow at all.
Oh, I had this fear...I make graphics/logos as part of my job so finding the one pixel of different shade means I'm OCD eyes!
I have a radiant cut J- double gasp!!!I was terrified that I'd get a poopy colored diamond but was surprised to see how white it is! I do see color in the corners when I'm in my bathroom which has warm light and brown walls (I did not paint the bathroom lol) and believe me, I'm always looking.
Here's a pic I often use on this site. I was just hanging out in my bedroom which doesn't get direct sunlight. Also the pave setting diamond's lowest setting is a G I believe, and I don't see differences.

Edited: added zoomed in view of diamond
Me again, with the G colored hearts and arrows. ;) I feel like pictures never do my diamond any real justice. (Or maybe Im just a craptastic photographer. Lol) It reflects my shirt, my phone, the shower curtain, whatever. At first I would get so annoyed but now I think it's funny like youre peering into a tiny mirror. I previously had an IGI graded G radiant and I could for sure see warmth in it.

Sooooo a few weeks ago my fiancé and I ordered a ring to be custom made at a local jewelers. the diamond I picked was a hearts and arrows ideal G. At the time I loved it, but after reading what some people had to say about G colored diamonds has me worried that its going to look yellow. I stated my concern to my jeweler and he said it won't look yellow, and the fact that were having blue diamonds next to it will cancel out any yellowness...but I'm still worried. Do any of you have G colored diamonds? Any regrets Or color issues?
