    I think you should buy another dress. Do you have your receipt from your purchase? Is there anything on there that might lead someone to believe that the dress you purchased was new?

    Sounds like a dishonest shopkeeper. All the same, you’ll have to bite the bullet and at least go to the store and speak with her in person about your options. I would fight like the dickens to at least get the alterations done for free if the dress has been swapped (maybe insert corsetting in the back?). I don’t know how possible it will be for you to walk out with another dress. It’s worth pursuing if the dres is just too small.
