@EffieTrinket:  Have you asked your photographer when you can expect them? The squeaky wheel gets the grease, I would be squeaking away!

It’s a bit long for an engagement session. What does your contract state regarding delivery times?

Not even a few teasers?

Seems a bit weird to me… Especially since it is “low” season right now.

We took ours November 13th – we’ve seen a teaser but nothing else. In our case, our photog told us it could take 4-5 weeks because of his backlog coming out of his packed September/October wedding season – he posts on facebook when he finishes a wedding and he’s been finishing two or three a week. He does all the culling himself and doesn’t ship out for that so I’m ok with waiting. I asked at the end of the shoot and he was like “I’m going to be honest, it will be a while” and I’m glad he told me.

I can’t lie, I’m DYING INSIDE WAITING because the teaser was insane.

End of wedding season, compling wedding albums to meet lab christmas deadlines.  You may want to follow up with your photographer, plus, double check your delivery timeline in the contracts. Sometimes it’s 4-6 weeks. Some photographers take a week off for a holiday, like Thanksgiving.  I let my clients know I take a week off for holidays to spend with family and not to count that week in their 4-6 weeks.

@EffieTrinket:  The holidays are stressful and busy for many reasons other than work and photographers don’t usually work standard hours so they may be behind. I wouldn’t be stressing out or worried, but if you want, send a message or call and leave a VM saying something like this:

“HI Bob, this is Effie Trinket. I just wanted to thank you again for the engagement session on November 4th. Do you know when our photos will be done? We are super excited to see them and share them with everyone. Thanks again.”

Ours took easily 6 weeks…I can’t remember exactly how long but I remember it was about a month and a half, maybe even two months. I thought that was a long time considering we got less than 30 pictures back, but I’m not sure what the “standard” is. The best thing to do would probably be to just contact your photographer like someone else said–say you’re really excited to see them and were just wondering when that might be.
