My wedding is in EIGHT DAYS and it seems I’ve suddenly put on a few pounds, in the last week or so. It could be water weight, my period should be coming in about five days, — water weight could start then, right? I don’t really pay attention to these things. My stomach is definitely a little bloated.
I don’t think I’ve been eating differently. Although I was taking a natural weight loss supplement and ran out of it, but that was only like a week ago. that was fuco-thin from GNC. I tried buying more from GNC’s around me but they didn’t have it, now I have to travel to where I’d originally gotten it. How much it was really helping I don’t know but it is interesting that I’ve gained weight.
Now I’m freaking out. I’ve ordered and am picking up a girdle at JC Penny that got great reviews and should help out, I guess. It’s supposed to hold in the stomach, waist, and back. We’ll see.
I had been so happy to have lost weight that I got a sexy form-fitting reception dress being made for me, the seamstress is making it for me as we speak. I’m supposed to have my final fitting for it Saturday. I’m scared I won’t fit in it.

@bridepower: At this point, try to eat only lean protein (chicken/ turkey/ fish) and vegetables (complex carbs) and cut out all bread, unheathly food. Also, start drinking a lot of water – aim for 2 big 2 liter bottles a day and then 2 days before the wedding reduce the water drastically so that if you were retaining it (assuming you hadn’t been drinking a lot of water prior to this) it will help.
Honestly though, I think what you are going through is really normal. I’m crazy about making sure I don’t gain weight and on my wedding day I was 4.5 lbs heavier than my final fitting. I was so stressed out, I wasn’t working out at all, was drinking a few glasses of wine every night and chowing down like every meal was my last. Go figure. I actually ended up losing it on our honeymoon.
On the day though, my dress was a little snugger than I wanted it, but no one knew except me and I didn’t even care.
Just try to take some time for YOU in these next 8 days. If that means leaving the house to go for a long walk by yourself, do it. Go get a massage or something. Take some time away for yourself where you don’t think of the wedding and it will help keep you grounded.
Congratulations!!!! I hope you have a beautiful day!

great advice. i’m now drinking a bottle of water as i write this.
You’re right. Now that I think about it how could i forget — I have been drinking more (wine at night). There was my bachelorette party also and oh boy did I get trashed. that’s been happening in the last month.
Normal, you’re right. But oh does it suck. I looked so awesome in my pics for my shower in June! 🙂 In my bachelorette pics I looked a little more chunky :(. It’s not too bad, only I notice like you say.
Water it is, and I’ll try the best I can to cut out all the unhealthy stuff. It’s only 8 days so it might not be too hard.
Thanks so much!!!
