Hi, I have recently purchased my dress, my wedding is 10 months away and I keep thinking have I choose the right dress. Initially I did not want this material but was asked to try it on and then I did it looked so beautiful and elegant. The other dress I loved was a lace style that went out more at the bottom, also beautiful on but I opted for the ‘less common’ dress as when I looked through photos all my friends had quite similar in style/lace dresses. Although I love my dress I can’t help thinking have I done myself out of a big wedding dress that I will never (hopefully) have the chance to wear again. I didn’t take any photos of myself in the dress as I want it to be a surprise again everytime I see it on. Anyone have a simple dress and regret it?

I think it looks gorgeous and classy, but in the end it all comes down to personal taste! Remember that you can easily bling it up with accessories (veil, belt, necklace, etc.). Perhaps you should go in and try it on again to help reassure yourself?

I love your dress, the back is amazing! I think that simple dresses can be so striking and elegant – although I am biased because I picked a simple dress myself which is also satin and with a bateau neckline.

aliciaspinnet: your dress is beautiful 🙂 I guess I’m more worried about what others will think (I know I shouldn’t) as a lot of my friends have gone for bigger dresses. I’m trying to keep telling myself that sometimes less is more 🙂

I just remembered another bee who wore quite a similar dress to yours – she looked absolutely stunning! http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/delicia-two-by-rosa-clara-wedding-day-photos/

This is a timeless dress. At least you won’t be looking back on your wedding photos and thinking, “What the heck was I wearing!?” like a lot of other brides who follow the trends will.

Noleen: I posted a week or so ago about regretting my plain dress, too. I think it’s probably pretty common, especially when you look at so many of the beautiful, intricate dresses people post here. But at the end of the day, you have to pick what you feel most comfortable in. I think your dress is absolutely stunning–so elegant looking, and that low back is definitely not plain.
For what it’s worth, I feel a lot better about my dress now. It’s very me. I just got my sash in the mail, so I’m excited to try them on together. One thing that I thought helped was doing a search on weddingbee of plain dresses. There are so many gorgeous, classic dresses that people personalized in their own ways, and that really made me feel more enthusiastic about my choice.
