SoonToBeAFK:  I don’t have a mossy myself, but I would suggest looking on Instagram under #moissanite ! They have a TON. And some people even upload clips of them in the sun or natural light. It might give you a little piece of mind. I personally think mossy are beautiful stones!

I think if you’re going to be paranoid that people won’t think it’s a real diamond, then I don’t think moissanite is for you. You should be proud of the fact it’s moissanite, and not concerned with passing it off as a diamond.

But for what it’s worth, I think if you have a larger than average diamond, people will STILL think it’s fake.

SoonToBeAFK:  I think the true princess cuts are so much more diamond looking than the square brilliants. Have you ordered yours yet? Plus squares face up way smaller than rounds, so a 1.7ct square cut won’t be overly huge (1.7 ct square cuts face up about the same as 1 ct round).

Why not just purchase a diamond then if you’re concerned with it not looking like one? Most people who purchase moissanites are proud of them and don’t try and pass them off as something else.

I agree with PP. If you want people to think its a diamond then don’t get a moissanite. If your FI doesn’t have the means to afford a 1.7 carat diamond people will assume it’s fake anyway.

Ham1320:  I agree. I feel like at least over half of the people that purchase moissy to ‘pass’ it off as a diamond are going to be disappointed. It looks and behaves so much differently than a diamond that you really have to want a moissanite to be happy with it.
